Keith Scott 289 Posted July 9 Both these teams are levels above 'dull as ditch water' Southgateball. All the best. Big Keith Scott.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,022 Posted July 9 Simply cannot believe that in the whole of Spain, the next best right back after Carvajal is Navas??

PurpleCanary 6,110 Posted July 9 Good game. One oddity. On 40 minutes the French goalie caught the ball from a corner or cross and then, ball in hand, ran clear out of the penalty area into that curved area that isn't part of the penalty area before kicking the ball. And the game went on.

Capt. Pants 4,712 Posted July 9 Spain look the best side in the tournament by a considerable margin. They're only slightly iffy at the back tonight because of suspensions.

Nuff Said 5,669 Posted July 9 The number of career ending injuries we’ve seen tonight that have cleared up in minutes should have the focus of the global medical research industry immediately.
Capt. Pants 4,712 Posted July 9 Spain hardly out of 2nd gear really. They'll be clear favourites regardless if it's Holland or England.

It's a shame but this is Germany not France and rules are rules.

That goalies go right to the edge of the penalty area and then the arm holding the ball goes forward - outside the area - for the kick upfield. So handball, but never punished. I haven't been able to look back but my view in this case was that the goalie (trying to catch Spain out with France 2-1 down at this point) rushed into the D and then the arm went forward. GodlyOtsemobor 2,784 Posted July 10 (edited) Well, today's the day, what do we think? Does the team finally click into gear tonight, do we continue to slog it and make it through by the skin of our teeth, or is it today that it all crumbles and we crash out?  I think we'll do both, click a little, play some decent stuff in short bursts, get a goal then sit it out. Classis Sgate ball.  Either way, I have to suffer the talksport commentators as I'm working!!! Aaaggghhhh Sam Matterface 🤮🤮🤮 Edited July 10 by GodlyOtsemobor

The problem for those would be if Spain do win, and decide to point out that it's because we don't have an "elite manager". That'll cause them to get very confused when they look at the career of Spain's manager, which is very similar to Southgate's and pretty common in international management now. wcorkcanary 4,569 Posted July 10 A mate has a tenner at 16/1 on the cloggies to win the comp. After they beat Turkey the bookie offered 21 quid cash out. After the Spain France game, they dropped it to under 19 quid.

Kinda says what we all know doesn't it, Spain. Anyone that beats them fairly deserves to be Champs.
