No changes and almost a five at the back. Boy Southgate, you know how to spoil us..

Great - so no Watkins (remember that pacy cameo in the opening game?), no Toney, no Gordon and no Palmer!

I'll only lighten up if we win. That's a promise 😉

We now have a Labour Government and you have to learn to be more inclusive.

If England win, not if we win.

We have Scots people on here you know and Keir wants everyone treating equal. Even if they're not.

I'm treating the Swiss as equals is that what Sir Keir means?

Let’s discuss the pros and cons of Switzerland…

I’ll start: the flag’s a big plus!

Either southgate bluffed everyone or our press did...its a back 4, just as before, Saka on the right wing

I've spent the first ten minutes trying to figure out whether it's a back four or the 3-4-2-1, and I still can't figure it out.

I think it's just about a 3-4-2-1, but Saka is playing much higher than Trippier, which makes sense.

Didnt take.long for Trippier to switch back to his weak left sided position. No real.change in formation and slow cross the field tappy tappy build ups.

Looks like we revert to a 5-4-1 when we have to defend

And then 4-3-3 in a slow , ponderous creep forward.

We transition slower than a caterpillar.

Which is pretty standard for any side playing with a back three.

It's also growing increasingly common for teams to defend in a different formation to the one which they use to attack.

Players don't necessarily have positions nowadays, they have functions.

Started this one better than the last couple.

Was just about to post this. A low bar, but definitely an improvement on what we've been served so far.

We get a corner. We pass it back. Back again. All the way back to the keeper.

It's like watching Wagners tactics..

Only thing I'd change at the minute is kane, he's like a statue in the box.

I think the issue is that he's spending too much time out of it.

The problem is that he's a world class player who is too good to drop, but it means that we have nobody in there to get on the end of these moves.

But when he IS in there he's rooted to the penalty spot waiting for the ball to drop for him, there's no movement or anticipation. I think Toney would bring that

It was reported during the week when Southgate was experimenting with three at the back that one option tried was a 3-5-2, with Bellingham in midfield with Rice and Mainoo, and Kane with Toney up top. Foden has been quite quiet again so far, so could be worth a try.
