Misery Guts 0 Posted April 2, 2006 http://www.thefa.com/Features/EnglishDomestic/Postings/2006/01/NigelWorthington_4.htmold foghorn was praised for his "investagitive journalism" by cutting and pasting an article from another website , so I thought , as a journalism student, how much acclaim I might recieve by posting this link. Show''s worthington''s attitude to kids , note "having patience" and taking things "step by step" suggesting to Worthy Outers that this is an excuse not to play young players and even if he had Walcott he would not play him or to Keep The Faithers who can say that Worthington is taking a methodical and careful approach to young talent, I am of the view that if your good enough , your old enough, ferguson started Giggs at 16, Moyes started Rooney at 16, Eriksson started Baggio at 17, ok they were exceptional talents but all these managers have shown an excellent attitude to young players in the past , and it has not done them any harm career wise . I would also like to note that a freind of mine who plays in the west brom youth team was told that you don''t play until your 20 , if your the next pele that was the policy anyway, under Gary Megason. Northern Canary 0 Posted April 2, 2006 i am more concered about other things than the kids not getting a game.I think that in the last few games they may as well, but putting them in this season when the team was under pressure and the fans were all angry would be a bad idea. Look at hendo, even when we were getting promoted, he was booed. You dont want to knock the kids confidence, and they might not be any good anyway
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted April 2, 2006 I wonder what benchwarming does for Hendo''s confidence?Middlesbrough had a few supporter issues this season. I heard their Manager deal with them with dignity and respect and he played his kids, nine of them!
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted April 2, 2006 BTW just seen Boro''s lads on MOTD2 playing like it really mean''t something.Make Shacks captain and bring in the youngsters 3 at a time rather than on their own.
