On a completely different note. That also reads like the varying time signatures of a Tool song. Why cant they play in 4/4 like a normal band?!

Apparently it's a traditional betting thing. Same as Ive seen 100/30 before which just looked weird!

It’s ten to three they’d doodled a snowman next to the odds & it got picked up by the next shift in error 😉

I’m always the other way round! Thankfully I can switch decimals into fractions without much thinking.

You work in the industry then?

So is odds calculation a quasi- scientific actuarial kind of activity, or more of a craft/feel/hunch/experience based one, in your (of you’ll forgive the phrase) book?

So having been busy all day, I saw this thread had gone to 10 pages and thought, that’s exciting, there must be some news or interesting rumours.

Probably the former. I’ve always been able to convert fractions into percentages or decimals mainly in my head. I think the detentions at High School helped (ran by a maths teacher) he was well pi$$ed off when he gave me a list to do for the dinner hour and I wrote the answers down without showing the workings out.

Come on, NS. You've been on here long enough not to expect anything of the sort.

True. I live in hope but am often disappointed. Let’s hope I’m not on July 5th.

Daniel Farke will be in the odds at 5.10pm potentially

Nah. Why would we be linked to a manager that has failed in his last three jobs (excluding Krasnodar)?

That sort of applied to David Wagner.

Equaliser 1-1

I watched 15 minutes of it, seems he plays a 4-3-3 high press which reverts to a 4-5-1 when defending. A mix of short and long passing,  although this may just have been the tactics today as they were away to the 3rd placed team.

I couldn't watch more as the standard was awful, looked league 2 quality to me.

Standard of play and tiny crowds would be a worry

Then why the hell are we interested on this guy!!?

Ian Evatt from Bolton has won rave reviews this season so why not try and get him? We seem obsessed with looking only at the.overseas market and seduced by trendy stuff such as data analysis, heat maps and god knows what else.

Someone like Evatt knows the English game and would come armed with a library of potential player contacts.

Knapper using sophisticated stats driven recruitment. This guy excels at developing a possession based young team. Guess that’s the attraction .

Farke had his faults, a stubbornness and maybe even leading to a certain disassociation with players who did not toe his line. The extent to which these faults contributed to his Premier League record can be disputed, but through it all he was never armed sufficiently for the task in the first place.

Bad manager he 'aint.

It seems possible he wasn't liked in the same way Wagner was, perhaps because he was stricter and more distant. His teams were fitter, for sure, and there were no incidences of senior pros getting stoned out of their mind to the extent that they became a threat to others a week before a vital game or those revelations of a possible booze culture that arose from the Duffy thread.

He accrued some bad performances under his belt, but at least they were against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea and the such and not against the Plymouths, Rotherhams or Birminghams.

Of course, we shouldn't have him back, but I just hope that the Leeds hierarchy have the foresight not to sack him right now.

Whilst it’s great to have an incoming manager that will focus on youth player development, which aligns with the club strategy, I hope that doesn’t become the all consuming focus, and that the club is committed to an overall strategy that results in a balanced first team squad which includes buying ‘oven ready’ players.

But neither is he a good manager. His first season here, his performance with us in the Premier League (which yes I agree he was badly let down by Stuart Webber but he needs to take his share of the blame) his subsequent performances for Gladbach and Leeds - Farke has had two good seasons in a career that now spans several seasons across three clubs.

yes, I hadn't scrolled down that far - but noises elsewhere suggest it is the Dane

reading the link below and other noises I've stuck £30 on him

More money than sense to spend £30 off the back of a Football Insider article. Particularly given Connor Southwell tweeted that it was less an indicator of having selected him than simply an effort to be prepared should he be picked.

a bit more money now 😁
