Recommended Posts

Finally the end of the road for my 'Das Wagnerlution' t-shirt, I bought from Along Come Norwich when Wagner was first appointed.

Mad to think that if the Sainz red card never happened we'd likely have finished 5th and playing Saints tonight.  Just shows how massive such moments can be.

Yeah. Could have been thrashed at St Mary's instead of Elland Road. Vive la difference!

Yes, "continue" was an interesting choice of words, especially in a formal statement rather than an off-the-cuff remark.

Get the feeling that our awful winless run cemented an agreement that Wagner would go at the end of the season regardless of where we finish and that half this season has already been spent looking for a replacement.

There's probably a reason Knapper has been so quiet.

Or if we had bothered to give a crap at Birmingham !

Right decision for all but I'm a bit sad.  I liked him and I liked Farke.  Compared to others, I never thought that Dean Smith was the right choice, and never thought Hughton was up to it either.

David was a proper nice guy. Always kept his head held high through the difficult times . Full of class. Managed to stick another one over on the scum as well. Done his best with a very limited squad and injuries, but ultimately fell short. Wish him and his family all the best

Nah. I woukd wait to see who it is appointed. I think realistically Knapper and the club had been looking since earlier in the season.

Far more likely is that promotion was the benchmark and as I have posted elsewhere, failure would mean enforced changes in terms of losing players. All of it bundled together gives an oppertunity for someone to come in with fresh eyes, a blank slate, to build something new.

Not one of our great managers but certainly not one of our worst. He did okay, but ultimately Knapper was always going to want his own man in and for that reason it is probably the right time to go. The club have acted well in this instance by giving him a chance and some time, and if we had gone up, I would have expected him to stay. This feels like the right decision at the right time and I wish him well in the future. No hard feelings from me at all.

Blatantly going to be the Arsenal assistant manager once he finishes his GCSEs and moves out of his mum's house.

He can find a nice motherly landlady along with Knapper while they get used to doing their own washing and other grown-up stuff.

I reckon the Arsenal man has basically said "look mate I'm interested, but we're in a title fight here, last game of the season in 2 days, let me get that out of the way, spend a few days with the wife and kids, then I'll get down and we'll have a chat".

If Cuesta is the real deal he won't be focused on anything other than Everton at home right now.

Or if Knapper hadn't loaned out Idah and replaced with SvH, we'd likely have got 3 points from the likes of QPR away

Hoggy, no offence but think you mean a different guy, Celtic striker, Adam Idah rather than  Norwich striker, Adam Idah

They've done us a huge favour in messing up our season by ditching Idah.

We need the rebuild, refresh, and to rediscover our identity.

An embarrassing lucky promotion and humiliating year as the Premier League whipping boys would just delay the inevitable and necessary.

My point was intended to be  about Idah’s Jekyll & Hyde act when playing for Celtic (complete with crap Scottish opposition defences in play) v us. Rather than ’ they have him now, not us’ per se.

But yes, I get your point there and you may well be right about that.

Idah was still comfortably our best goalscorer from the bench and at the time he left, was one of the top goalscorers from the bench in the entire division.

I’ll be a little worried about the fate of my Borja Sainz T shirt until the transfer window slams shut.

You don’t take a club from 17th to 6th (and briefly 5th) if you’re not a good manager.

Conversely you don't take a squad this good and leave it languishing in 17th place in the first place if you are a good manager.

Does that mean I can return it as faulty and get a refund?

You might do if some of your key players get badly injured.
