Of course Sheffield United fans will tell you that Anis was awful but hey, so was the rest of their team in the top flight at that point. Maybe in a lower divison he will thrive?

Of course a big, strong 6ft3 midfielder is clearly something we need to shore up our midfield mind. Not quite a defensive midfielder but close enough I guess

He’s not defensive. Attacking if anything

sorry i thought i read somewhere he was under 23 captain (  might be wrong )

anyway happy to have him

I read the same but guess they're both the same so what's 2 between friends 😆

From what I've read he seems to be technically very good, not a lot of flair about him, likes a pass and can read the game with a little bit of pace.

This signing makes a lot of sense reading this CC. Slimane knows Oscar really well from Brondby.

People said similar when we went mad and brought in Sargent, Tzolis, Rashica, Normann, Gilmour, Lee-Melou, Williams and Kabak.

Thanks for bringing us all down man, 😩

Clever. Bringing players who've played together in the past - should make it easier for them to gel whilst also making it easier to settle into the club to boot.

Only results and player performances will determine how successful transfer business is, but under Knapper I get a strong sense he knows what he's after, gets it with relatively little fuss, and seems Webber-esque in getting good fees in for players too.

Apparently the scouting reports on him are that he will thrive in a possession based team, but would struggle in a more direct team. Sheff Utd weren't exactly dominating possession much last season. He might be **** for us, who knows, but we're probably a better litmus test for him than Sheff Utd would have been if he thrives in a possession based system.

I do wonder how much of the Slimane deal is actually because we think Oscar could be a star and this move is actually more about setting Schwartau up to succeed than it is about Slimane.

I think there's a bit of that in there, but also if the two players know each other well, they'll be drilled as a small unit in themselves in a key area of the park and it might make both players look good. And if Slimane does struggle, it was only a loan.

That would make even more sense if Gee's in the building - let him develop with the U21s and the odd senior game, keep Slimane there too, push McLean and Nunez a bit further forward.

Terrible window much weaker than we started it. Only plus we have kept Sargent

relegation battle looming. I am dreading travelling to Coventry

Don't go then.

I think the big difference is the League we were in.

It’s a good point  well made  why do I do it to myself

Funny how opinions differ. I see it very differently.

We are selling (for very good money) players who don't want to be here, so it doesn't matter if they are good or not, and bringing in players who the new manager thinks will fit with the style of play he prefers, and who have potential to improve with us to either improve us as a team, or to have a sell on value if we need it in a year or few.

Sara is the one I would have liked to have kept, but that was good money, and an offer he couldn't refuse.

Not being funny, but if the criticism of a player is they don’t know where to stand in or out of possession, that’s a coaching issue.

Not accepted unless you claim it with a "as I said" or a "told ya".

Only then can you claim it 😉
