Love it.

See, what's happened there is they've seen that Julie Reinger follows us and got it all wrong... 😂😉

Players' mums' instagram follows are 2024's Flighttracker spots.

I suspect she'll be posting on the Pinkun soon. Probably moaning about the loud PA system

Maybe she saw "Canaries" and thought it was about the islands and she thought she was setting up her next holiday destination..

Nothing will make up for if we sell Sargent though.

I'd rather slam the shutters down on this transfer window and go with what we've got than sell him.

There is a positive feel around the club at the moment which would be destroyed if Sargent went so I can't believe he'll go this week.

I still feel we need at least another 2 signings in order to compete this season. But yes, fending off any late Sarge interest is a given.

This is partly stating the obvious, but there is a clear trend here. We are targeting players who are young, are technically gifted (ideally with both feet, even if one is better), and who can play comfortably in more than one "position". Position in inverted commas because supposed formations are fluid within a game, and head coaches change formations during games. So it is no longer a question of like-for-like direct replacements in a transfer window.

Sarge could have a clause in his contract that he has to be informed of transfer interest and it could turn his head and heart. Perfectly possible we could lose him and we can't do anything about it!

I don't.

I do. Unless we have a replacement of equal quality lined up and can do the deal within this window.

I do. It would be a massive call by Knapper. There's no need to sell.

We've only scored 3 league goals so far and Sarge has got 2 of them.

Not this window though.

Yes, I think it’s too late in the window.

I don’t think we need to sell anymore so why disrupt everything built for money for a player who’s only going to increase in value and on a long contract.

If Sarge wanted away I expect we’d have heard about it by now.

Add to that the fact it will absolutely destroy all the goodwill and support that’s building for the new regime I just can’t see it.

That’s my hope anyway.

I think he'd be sold for around that. Paddy Davitt said we turned down £20m from the States.

Depends on the wages on offer I think.

What's the multiple in going from the EFL to the EPL these days? Double? Treble? I just looked at some average figures, & they went from £7,000 odd p.w.to £60,000. Josh probably on above average of course. But still ...

That's assuming a PL club comes in for him, but I'd imagine a big foreign club would be paying something similar.

If so I could scarcely blame him. His injury record is not great &, as everyone knows, a footballer's career is a short one.

Do I want him gone? Of course not. But I look at the way the club is being run, I look at Josh's options, &, well ...

Sargent would go if we got £25m+ surely. We could probably kiss goodbye to any promotion hopes this season though.

Similar to Farke, I think the JHT project is at least a 3 season rebuild anyway so we would probably then have the money for 4 or 5 punts until one of them came off.

Agree but in terms of the rebuild it then doesn't make sense if we are genuinely interested in a misfit from Real Madrid.

Why waste the money on a loan when they can use whatever money comes in to buy rather than loan.

The Reinier rumour has it that the sticking point between Norwich and Real is the option at the end of the loan.

There are reports that Norwich are trying to get a €13m option on the loan deal - Real want it to be higher and mandatory if certain conditions are met. Norwich are obviously trying to avoid getting locked into a player who has only really shown his level in fits and bursts.

When it's a big value player, it's possibly best to do a loan with an option at a fixed price. Try before you buy so to speak. Not sure this will work for Real as if it doesn't work out they will have a player with 1 year left on his contract. As for captain America, I am sure no matter how much he loves the club, it must be very difficult to see other players leave for realistically bigger things. It wouldn't surprise me if he thinks he has given us a good few years service, and with a massive rebuild ongoing thinks this is the perfect time for a big move while his star is shining brightly. How hard he would push for it if a bid came in is up to him.

I just can’t see Knapper sanctioning it this late, hope I’m right.

You won't get 4 or 5 strikers for £25m who can score 20+ a season though. Prolific strikers are like gold dust.

Personally I feel Sarge now has to carry the rest of the team whilst this so called rebuild happens.

Sell Sarge this window then the strategy has to be how to avoid relegation with no strikers.

I think T'J was saying that we'd buy 3 or 4 & gambling one turned into a 20+ goal a season striker, the rest then become immaterial.

Our best striker in recent years was a freebie, so who knows. Fans always want certainty in football but in reality there's no such animal (not at our level anyway).

Agree. This deal has too many strings attached. If we were rolling in it, it maybe worth a punt. Not sure how this supports our trading model. We're also going to have to pay his wages for a season.

Imagine there may well be an option to buy, he will only have a year left on his Real contract end of this season.

Especially if he wants to go.

He doesn't. There's been no indication from the player he wants out. It would be a highly unpopular unnecessary sale so let's not turn this on Josh.

Tbh I think he needs to have a longer injury-free spell before sides will want to pay what we’d want for him; if he has a decent season he’ll be worth a lot.

Sorry but are you Josh? Or do you talk to him? He doesn't is a big statement. I'm sure he loves the club but does he love it like we do? Probably not. My guess is it's a career and if an offer comes in that helps his career and bank balance?
