A friend of mine plays in a 70s/80s punk/new wave covers band and one of their songs is a cover of a song from a Goth band that he was in during the 80s. I start singing that song and the earworm disappears-and the Goth song doesn’t replace it! She hated school trips as she said the journey home ended up as a coach full of little kids singing “We all live in a yellow submarine”.
