Yes Sainz, I can boogie, Borja boogie!

That tune’s been nicked by the Scottish football team.

Was a Spanish song before they nicked it, time to claim it back!

Oh yeah-sung by a Spanish duo, although written by two Germans.

Not to mention that Highland Cathedral was composed for bagpipes, and also written by a German.

So all that needs to be found is a Danish hit, also written by a German to complete the ensemble?

I'll go grab the DeLorean, and once we've found the final song let's meet up by City Hall an hour before the lightning is expected to strike.  We'll get this anthem if it's the last thing I do!

Edit: Oh god, there's a dead dog in the passenger seat, we may need to call this off.  Who the hell had the keys last?

Just no.

Yes Sir I Can Boogie and Sweet Caroline should be immediately banned from any sort of public performance ever. Please.

Yeah, I disliked Sweet Caroline even before it got taken up as an unofficial sports anthem.

I love it!  Throw in 'Freed from Desire' and we got a partaaay! 🙂

You only live once, why be miserable about tunes that everyone can get behind?

I’ve never been able to forget the name, we had one of those K-Tel or Ronco 70s compilations that had the song on.

Can’t find a picture of it but here’s one we had earlier in the decade.

Is there anything worse than an earworm you hate? Maybe it’s because a song has become stuck in your head that you hate it, and then you hear it again and once again it follows you round… 😡

Fortunately for you then, the action of clicking on the video link is purely optional.😀

I have a foolproof method to get rid of an unwanted earworm. A friend of mine plays in a 70s/80s punk/new wave covers band and one of their songs is a cover of a song from a Goth band that he was in during the 80s. I start singing that song and the earworm disappears-and the Goth song doesn’t replace it!

Unfortunately I can’t find it online so that you can try it yourself.

I had a fever dream… somewhere between madness and consciousness this popped into my head…

To the theme of this 90s classic:

“I saw The Sainz, he’s scored another goal he’s Borja Sainz.

He’s got a cool goatee and he’s scares your goalie.

I saw The Sainz he’s scored another goal he’s Borja Sainz.”

In the army now by status quo, just horrible, a song that sounds like it was written by a 12 year old

Slight tweak 👌

Talking of earworms, I recently made the mistake of introducing my grandkids to "Hello Mother, Hello Father" by Allan Sherman. Those of a certain age will know what I mean.

At least it is one up on "Baby Shark" and "The Wheels on the Bus (go on and on and on and on)".

My mum was a primary teacher. She hated school trips as she said the journey home ended up as a coach full of little kids singing “We all live in a yellow submarine”. Not the song, just that one line, over and over again…
