For their first goal, neither Stacey nor Fassnacht even realised the player was on the wing. Look at their eyes. Playing out from the back isn't working and IMO should be dropped, at least for this game. OK, I know the ball will usually come right back, but at least everything is happening  a little further up the pitch.

BUT we're playing probably one of the top five teams in the world at their place. It's always going to be tough.

These two central defenders went an entire championship season only conceding 36 goals under Farke. Under Wagner we have the 18th worst defence in the league with 44 conceded after 29 games. Our season won’t be defined by this game but the way different managers get different results from the same players speaks volumes.

Of course skipp helped but the lack of replacement for him is a Webber legacy issue. Just pointing out that we played out from the back with these centre backs under Farke and conceded far less goals than under Wagner.

I agree not replacing Skipp that season (or since) was/is criminal. But that's not on Wagner. You pointed the fact out fair enough. I think it needed a massive piece of context.
