Wait did you think I was talking about us? No, Charlton Athletic! Interesting how there are a lot of clubs who's fanbases have similar views and thoughts to ours https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/charlton-athletic-miserable-decline-2865745
Addick/Canary 162 Posted January 22 Oi! Stop picking on Charlton Athletic! It's bad enough having been a life long follower without their decline being rubbed in, Cambridge. Delia once said,"We should be more like Charlton Athletic". It was the year we were both relegated from the Premier League, and then the Championship. So she got her wish. Unfortunately, only one of us has made it back since then. Also, beware what you wish for in wanting a new owner with 'pots of money'. At least NCFC still owns its own stadium and training ground. Both of Charlton's have been retained by their last owner bar one, putting them in a pretty precarious position assets wise.

Don't be ridiculous. Everyone knows there's no such thing as a bad foreign owner: they're all rich, they all have the club's best interests at heart and they're always raging successes. Always.

They'd reach safety every year and ease off, and that was all there was to it . Of course after a few years the fans grew dissatisfied with the "lack of ambition" (to be fair, it probably got boring pretty soon) and the manager was sacked as part of a plan to "aim higher" and we all know how that ended. At least, that's how I remember it ! Edited January 22 by It's Character Forming disclaimer
Google Bot 3,934 Posted January 22 Didn't Delia and Co get invited by Charlton to go have a look around and see how things were done there? (Not Simon Charlton btw, we all know how he likes his washing).
