Chris Mepham

Recommended Posts

Chris Mepham Bournemouth CB was at Carrow Road today.

26 years old, so a good age. Wants more game time.

Unless I am missing the joke, the Serg pic is current so not last year.

This photo was from over a year ago. We failed to match his wages.

Yeah and we also had the foresight over a year ago to have a poster of Sarge in this season's kit.

Finally a signing, but not a DM.

Is that definitely true? How do you know it's an old photo? Just trying to manage my expectations, as he'd undoubtedly be a great signing at this level!

Would there be a big poster of Sargent in this seasons kit up if this was before we signed Duffy?

Genuine question can't remember if we signed him last summer before the kit came out?

Could be from August perhaps, this season but last year.

We signed Duffy in June and the home kit was released just over a month later. Suppose we could have tried to sign Mepham as well as Duffy though

Batth was a late in the window signing I believe so we had already decided 2 new CBs required in light of Hanley's injury and Andy Os likely departure.

Mepham would be a great signing for this level, but imagine he’ll have a number of suitors with better promotion prospects than us.

He’s also looking for guaranteed football which he’d get here as he’s an upgrade on our 4, but unless it’s a permanent not sure why we would bring him in unless looking to offload Gibson and/or Batth in this window.

Lot of wages being spent in CD on players that won’t be playing, Knappers got a busy 6-8 months ahead.

Exactly, this would give us another CB in addition to Hanley, Gibson, potentially Kenny, Duffy, Warner and Batth, with Adegboyega coming up from the under 21s.

Edit: forgot Tomkinson!

Mepham has also played RB, so I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Fisher loaned out for some experience and one of Batth/Gibson to move on this month.

Would probably be a great signing, but doesn't exactly plug one of the holes in the squad. I fear signing a defender at this point indicates the club thinking is that improving the defence is about personnel rather than the tactical setup. I find that worrying but not exactly surprising.

Decent bit of parking though.

His wheels aren't even touching the white lines.

I’d have thought it a mixture - Kenny surely isn’t the long-term cb solution.
