There's worse club owners than Delia out there..

Recommended Posts

Of course I'm not happy with the current situation and think its time for Delia to retire too but.. Could you imagine Delia begging us all to pay her money her money to prevent the club from being wound up?

Dejphon Chansiri has a net worth of about 720 million dollars apparently. He's claiming personal cash flow issues, but it looks rather like a pointed dig at the fan base for describing him as a 'custodian'.

Is this any different to what they asked fans to do with the training ground? Remember Huckerby, how a local businessman, also a fan, stumped up the money so we could sign him!

You forgot to mention the share issue to cover the ITV Digital shortfall.

People have short memories, it wasn’t that long ago that the club were pleading poverty and asking the fans to pony up money for core facilities and overdue infrastructure improvements.

Personally I think people who wish Delia to be gone should ‘be careful what they wish for’

What was the alternative, letting Tom takeover as planned? That would end up well. If Micky and Delia have run the club so well why I have been near the brink on more than occasion.

Indeed. Why should us ITV Digital bailout contributors be flattered by the ridiculous paperwork produced trying to extricate NCFC whilst paying huge rewards to the likes of the Webbers. Ditto the Season Ticket supporter surrender of 2009 which turned into a similar sum relegation bonus for McNally 5 years later.

Chansiri is coming across rude and ridiculous. That said he is prioritising his lowest earners that doesn't seem to be an NCFC trait and has promised his supporters interest whereas we only pay that to American multimillionaire.

I suppose the collapse of ITV Digital could be blamed for you holding a few shares ?

Which provided fans with shares with a resale value.

So does that mean you can sell them if you become unhappy with the Club ? :classic_laugh:

Absolutely. Judging by your posts you very much fit into that category and I am sure the Canaries Trust would be very happy to buy your holding...😎

If you can't tell the difference between being offered the chance to invest in capital development and being asked to invest to pay the tax bill and wages, I'd suggest that you are very careful when making investments!😁

I would consider both to be expected costs of running a football club.

I strongly disagree. Not only are there no owners worse than Delia, but she ranks highly as one of the worst people of all time, including Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Saddam, Pol Pot, Pinochet, Idi Amin, Milosovic, Chemical Ali, etc

They are, but capital investment almost always involves a loan at all levels. The training ground gave fans the opportunity to invest if they wished, and it paid them back. It seems to me to have been a sensible way of raising funds.

Although slightly better than anybody who thinks of themselves as ‘Big’

Are you saying that the Canaries Trust has the money to buy back shares at the same real terms value as 2002. I doubt it.

I think my suggestion was a little more pointed - he seems to think that it would be sensible to invest in a company that is seeking money to pay the wages and the tax bill - which suggests that he really shouldn't make anything but the simplest financial investments!

Clearly finance for Capital Investment is logical. By the same token though was it advisable to issue shares to cover the ITV Digital shortfall? They haven't paid the fans back and the shareholders funds took the hit for the bond interest.

Actually - what Chansiri is doing is pretty similar to what we have had to do.

We have turned to a random American to fund our cash flow shortfall (with a protracted takeover period and god knows what afterwards thrown in).

Chansiri has turned to fans instead, but the principle is the same.
