Is Wagner throwing the players under the bus?

No clue but forced a move away from Sunderland as they did not match his high demands.

He didn't force a move away he was released by Sunderland so effectively didn't have a club. Unlikely he is on megabucks, this is NCFC after all. Baath may well be just as old and slow as Duffy.

Wagner effectively took McLean out the game putting him as CB so he may as well just have taken him off anyway to get Idah up top with Hwang. It was a massively poor call imo and there were other options.

You cannot tell me that McLean is a prefered centreback over Batth.

No absolutely not. That was plain ridiculous and I can’t get my head around what on earth he was thinking.

Just to say that at the point that decision was made, we had two subs left. He brought on Stacey for Fisher, and Idah for Gibson.

I'm assuming Stacey for Fisher was just like-for-like, and he wanted to get an extra forward player, not unreasonably. So there wasn't scope to bring Batth on for Gibbo at that point.

I'm not saying those decisions were right (I didn't watch the game, and Wagner's record with subs is abysmal), but it's misleading to say he 'preferred' McLean as CB to Batth today.

How long has he found it "strange" or has he just noticed? He's kept choosing them so it's down to him.

We've known for some time Gibson is error prone. When we signed Duffy people were pointing out that Celtic fans had said the same about him, and looking back so were Brighton fans, particularly when it seems they started playing out from the back more (his 2nd massive error today).

Both have been the same for us this season. It could be understandable for Wagner to try those 2 together after Hanley's injury but with 2 alternatives available, to not change at least one of them after error after error after error is the "strange" thing. Does he find it strange that we have conceded the most goals in the league too? Because I don't.

Yes fair enough but the obvious decision would be to leave the defence alone and take off a midfield player for the extra forward.

We ended up playing McLean as centre half, so lost him from the midfield anyway.

Well, I'm afraid he did. There are some sources Sunderland side that does say he was offered a contract- but that they wanted the side to be younger so it was much lower offering than he felt he deserved.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest he is on 30k p/w + here, he's plucked it out of the sky and made it up.

In terms of figures, yes we can't say what he's on as we don't know. We do know they weren't prepared to pay him what he wanted and we were.

Yeah, but there's absolutely nothing to say he's a comparative high earner here. There are plenty of legitimate criticisms that the need to make up and exaggerate is just so unnecessary and hardly the first time for the poster involved.

Beacause McLean is a world class centreback. Who needs Danny Batth sunderlands player of the season on super high wages to come on?

Unreal

Wagner certainly not endearing himself but Webber just as culpable in getting theses players in and out! The sooner he’s gone the sooner his destruction of this club can start to be mended! Maybe he’s the sort of spiteful human who when the supporters turned on him those years ago has gone out of his way on over paying for **** players selling our best players and spanking away the money to leave us in a massive hole when he’s gone! Why else has he gone so far when he started with a vision and style! Makes you wonder about him as a person!

Exactly, nothing will improve at all until Webber is finally gone and no way should he be allowed to take any decisions re players or coaching staff on his way to the exit door.

And this is why I ask of whom actively bought these players in, why if Wagner wanted Batth hasn’t he used him? I mean it’s not like our back line has been unstoppable!
I just wonder why we have Batth & Whang who on contract wage appear to be extremely high for virtually zero return! Webber might just be the person who brings down the curtain on Delia & MWJ tenure in a very negative way! Unless things improve we could be in a bunch of trouble while watching the binners going up! Oh dear!
