Leicester Predictions

Recommended Posts

3.2 win and go above them in the table. On a side note I’m surprised Leicester didn’t take a full allocation of tickets offered. There’s still three rows in block J of the South Stand for a family of 5 to grab.

I think we'll get beat by a couple of goals. Not necessarily pessimistic, I just think they have too much for most teams this season us included.

I'd probably agree with that - I suspect that their pace (and pressing) up front will be a problem and we've not come up against a midfield of that calibre as yet either.

That said, they do look shaky at the back, so if we were to nab the first goal things may be a little different if we are able to sit a little deeper and protect Gibson and Duffy against the pace of their forwards.

It'll be interesting to see if Wagner keeps the same team or if we strengthen the midfield at all - perhaps push Barnes on and have either Gibbs or Sara behind him with two of Kenny, Forshaw or (if not further forward) Sara coming in a little deeper.  I suspect he won't as he'll need to give Idah every chance to come good, but it would be a temptation for me.

I predict the bloke next to me will spend 90 minutes moaning, particularly about Gibson. Why on earth do people bother? And does he not realise that everyone else has worked out that Gibson is a bit of a problem?

I also predict that Vardy will consume more caffeine in the warm up than most of us manage in a month.

I have absolutely no idea how the game will go other than to say the first goal is vital in top of the table games.

I predict a ****e ref, Gibson sending off and a dodgy penalty 1-0 loss!

Or McLean & Idah to score in a 2-0 win!

2-1 to them with a soft early goal, we battle back, equalise close to half time (either side) dominate until 90+3 when they score a stupid goal to concede....

Leicester will probably go into every game this season as strong favourites to win it, but they are not infallible, and it's football, so it's far from being a certainty that they can fulfil this prophesy every time and, indeed, they do have a league loss already.

This tough more street-wise City side can never be written off, especially under the lights at Carrow Road, so I am going to be optimistic of us getting something from the game, but only slightly so.

Using the 'FinkTank' method I suggest the following:

City win   24%

Draw   24%

Leicester win: 52%

I personally feel that this game demands a change in tactics (line-up) from the manager, but I think he'll start the same.

We don't usually play our midweek home games on a Wednesday plus it is an 8pm KO so that should tell you it is live on Sky which is probably why Leicester did not take their full allocation Midlands.

Lots aren’t so confident about this one. I think it’ll be a draw - can’t go, so I’m half expecting we’ll put in a stormer; if so I’ll be more than happy.

Should be a good game. I'll go for a 3-2 win....

......or for  @littleyellowbirdie I'll say an 11-1 victory with an Idah hat trick, Barnes 2 goals, Fassnacht 2 goals and a goal each for Duffy, Gibson, Giannoulis and Gunn.

Never thought I'd see this sort of sarcasm from the happy clapper in chief... especially targeted at someone saying not to get the hopes up.

This game looks so much different if we had Sarge fit.  Too many questions regarding Idah/Hwang, and Barnes can only do so much for us.

It's a real shame as we'd have a far better idea of how we shape up as contenders were Sarge available, 'if' we can keep it tight at the back i could imagine an amazing display from us and walking away happy with a point.

But being realistic they have so much more depth in their squad, it's hard to know the right way to approach this - do you go at them, or play like we did second half vs Stoke and put bodies in the way?

Personally, I'd rather see Rowe go back to the right and link up with Stacey as they paired so well in the opening matches, and I'd put Fassnacht up top with Barnes and still play the two, then on the left just get One to bust a gut throughout the first half.  We've then got some decent outlets.

Otherwise, I really think Idah will be a passenger in this game and somewhat fizzle our attack options and they'll hold possession, the opening 20-25 mins at the weekend we were so dominant and I can't remember him really featuring a great amount even then.  I like the guy, and he's clearly got the ability but needs a rocket up his ****.

I think this may finish 1-1 and we'll be pretty happy with a decent defensive performance personally.

To add to it all, it's going to be raining and 40mph gusts (blowing a hooley) to add to the excitement lol

Gibson has made less mistakes than Duffy this season. He's not been a problem.

However I suspect Leicester will have too much for us - as I think they will for the rest of the league.

We will fight and work hard, perhaps 1-2 or 0-2

But they think they are so massive!!! Joking apart it enabled me to get 6 tickets in the block they couldn’t sell. Can’t wait to enter Norfolk around 1 pm on Wednesday via that ugly hotel on the A 47.

You are way out, Leicester are 40% and never add it up to 100%. For a three end result in football it’s normally around 110% over round to cover all 3 results.

I predict that if we lose it will be McCleans fault, and if we win, it will be nothing to do with McClean, even if he scores a hat trick.

Joking aside we do seem to do well against Leicester at FCR ( not so well at the Kingpower ). Hopefully we can keep the confidence up against a good side as we have 3 difficult home matches coming up against, Birmingham and Lakeys Leeds.

I would massively agree with the first paragraph.  He is so essential to the way Wagner has us set up to play.  Barnes is so much more influential when he has Sarge providing the legs.  This is where Idah really needs to understand the requirements of the role tactically.

I know why we play out from the back at goal kicks and agree it's the way to go. But Gibson seems to struggle with it. Dimi is excellent, could we swap them round at goalkicks?

The chap next to me wants them to go long despite overwhelming evidence that it doesn't work.

Tell Daniel Finklestein that.

Besides "110%" is an expression and not a mathematical possibility.

A bit of fun in any case. I think you jest too.

Could go either way, but I'd like to see us put in a decent performance nonetheless and that's what I'll be judging us on.

We've got off to a decent start so I hope we aren't going to melt everytime we play anyone any good. It's Leicester!

I think last season he made quite a few mistakes but I can't really think of one glaring error Gibson's made passing it out from the back. Gini being on his left-footed side certainly helps, I agree!

According to Bill Hill they are marginally. We’re 13/8, Leicester are on offer at 6/4.

They may be good but they’re not Man City. I remember the day we were the 25/1 outsiders, they were 1/12.

We know how that turned out.
