Best goal scorer in Norwich shirt

Recommended Posts

A question someone from up north asked me yesterday. Had a think and although on loan and was poor for us it is Harry Kane.He laughed,I did not.

Surely then the question should have been 'best goal scorer that's worn a Norwich shirt'.

Tell this someone that they're a moron like most northerners and be done with him.

In his prime and at his best when it comes to finishing there has never been better than Pukki. Back of the net every time.

Shame his career ended with us like it did.

WFLGH would like a word.

Ted MacDougall. Just a goalscorer, nothing else. Then Dean Ashton and Grant Holt.

I don't know if they were the top scorers- but the best pair I like was Td McDougall and Phil Boyer and  David Cross

Holt > Pukki every day of the week. Hardly his fault he joined in L1, would you rather he hadn’t?!

Definitely Ted MacDougall.

Kevin Drinkell was also very good. He scored 22 goals in a top tier season without scoring more than 1 in a game.

And puffed on a ciggy at half time too

Wynton Rufer probably the best player we’ve had who you’ve never heard of. Signed by Ken Brown in 82, never played a game ended up at Werder Bremen win the bundasliga, won the German cup, won the cup winners cup and was top scorer in the champions league in 93/94.

Holt had as many seasons in the Premier as Pukki.

Hence 22 goals without scoring more than one in a game. He probably failed to score in the second half of those games.

Ted Mcdougall for me too.

Ron Davies, Holt, Drinkell, Sutton, Ashton, Pukki etc were all good in their way but if I had to bet with my life, one on one with the keeper it would only be Ted

It was that bad an ending! You're talking like he's Andy Marshall or something!!

Plus some of Pukki's goals came in two poor teams.

Love Pukki but Holt over him every day of the week.

From the strikers I have been lucky enough to see I think this is spot on.👍

Robert Fleck

John Deehan

Kevin Drinkell

Chris Sutton

Ted MacDougall

I think you more or less have to go with the strikers who have scored most of their goals in the top flight and the above list more or less does that.
