He's a good manager, and precisely what Leeds need. Whether he's got enough time is another matter.

Seems very desperate, how much difference can he really make at this point.

Man City and Newcastle next, he's really not got much chance there.  3 points vs West Ham and a prayer that Spurs don't turn up on the final game?

Exactly he will make them more solid at the back and pump the ball in to danger areas

will not be pretty but might be better than just leaving it as it was

these old managers like Sam and Woy Hodgson might not play modern football but can get a result or two

He got West Brom relegated.

Not sure why anyone would think this time would be any different.

Palace have played some pretty good stuff since Hodgson came in to be fair.

He joined mid-December and couldn't get the players in that he wanted. West Brom wanted him to stay, but he left. Incidentally, pretty much everyone in football had West Brom as relegation fodder.

Palace have been Great

Roy has gone in a sorted it out straight away he didn't need a pre season like people say Wagner needs

He had the players though. Eze, Olise and a fully focused Zaha is a bloody decent triumvirate.

Wagner needs a pre-season as his style is so fitness-based, and it's clear to me that our team's a fair bit short in that regard.

Smith got us relegated, and I don't doubt he can keep Leicester up because of what happened here.  Luck is such a massive factor in these final games so unlike a full-season appointment, it's a bit of a dice roll really.

I Still do not buy it

If the players are not fit enough now after 2/3 of the season when he came in when will they bit fit

we spend fortunes on modern technology / Diets / fitness staff if they are not fit enough then someone needs sacking

Recovery periods  - and throw in the hardcore nature of the Championship with games coming thick and fast, and players don't have time to recover properly. Which incidentally makes them far more vulnerable to injuries.

Yes i agree about recovery time and injuries after a hard season wagner would have the same amount of games if he had been here all season

But Fitness wise they should be fit enough to play any style

Need to be super-fit to play such a pressing style. It took Klopp ages to get it going with Liverpool, and we've said for ages we don't really have many formidable athletic powerhouses in our ranks.

Wagner cannot now use the heavy caffeine dosing after Klopp got caught. I hope he is still in contact with Klopp and can find out what alternative he's having to use instead. 😉

Excellent work by Leeds. Morrissey once sang “That joke isn’t funny anymore” but boy it is.. it really really is :  D

Who knows. Lambert was called the Messiah here but we were his only success. Smith was sacked twice in just over a year and is given the task of saving Leicester with Shakey who was sacked by Leicester.

Allardyce is an egotistical bloke who when he burst on the scene was quite keen to do things differently. At Bolton, for example, they didn't just buy boots. They were fitted properly for them.

And I'm sure the way life is cyclical, that as well as smoking being beneficial to your health, his style of football will become revolutionary again.

****loads of tea. Just might **** like a racehorse afterwards.

Although a German concoction called Power Cocktail from a company called FitLine might do it.

Wagner's Power Cocktail! I like it, something for us all to get behind at last! 🙂

It's bloody good stuff, actually. Miss TGS (who is a radiologist, so a medical background) recommended it and I ran a 94-second half-marathon PB in Verona after slurping one three hours before the race.

Sounds like something dodgy you buy on the internet to keep going all night ( not the toilet )

They don't have a single striker over 6' 1. Big Sam will be slamming Koch up front in desperation.

...

Imagine we'll be hearing lots of Koch jokes in the next few weeks.

I imagine it is a sign of how much financial trouble Leeds will be in if they get relegated.

Money is not really a big concern, several players will be sold to offset the loss of the PL tv revenue and they're not in debt. The only possible effect will be the full takeover by the SF 49ers owners might be postponed.

Their defenders are terrible though.

He’ll not have the time to get them organised enough to compete against Man City. Newcastle are no mugs. So in reality it’s about picking up 4-6 points from West Ham away (so hoping they’ll be safe enough and tired after playing both Manchester clubs and Brentford and have their focus on a Europa Conference League Final) and Spurs at home (well, they are Spursy but if Mason fancies the job full time and they don’t want Kane and Son walking won’t roll over).
