That was the point i was making your comment makes me think you watch it on the radio Neal. Or do you hold a season ticket?

No I hold a season ticket and travel to away games. Hence my comment ‘even watching it on tv is better than pretending it didn’t happen’

Yeah, an example of how external investment doesn't always work contrary to the belief of the particular group I'm talking about - so for that reason they were a brilliant example.

Depends how you look at it I guess.

I could just as easily say that the fact the only external investment we managed to find was £2m (hardly significant in football terms) loan from a pair of payday loan chancers who upped sticks at the first chance they got suggests the conditions our owners have put on outside investment is the issue.

Weird timing, i'd literally just clicked on this thread!

But I could equally argue back that fans wanted us to go with Cullum, fans wanted us to sell to Fernandez, and a long list of potential owners that have ended up screwing up more than they've got right.

It also doesn't change the fact that external investment has existed and very recently exists and is still in a process of sorts

None of that underlines the most important point which is the alarming fact that those behind the organising of this were seemingly not aware of any of the above. They did then contradict themselves by saying their previous protest (calling Webber a c*nt) is what clearly instigated the American's interest.

I think that what he was saying. It's really hard to tell.

Not sure I follow the logic of that, kc! If anything it suggests we weren't putting stringent enough conditions on potential investors/investments! But, seriously, I have yet to see any evidence either way as what we might have been demanding of investors, and certainly no evidence that we ever turned away a good proposal.

Towergate,, his insurance company, went belly up and he lost all his shares and control, and eventually left. But he moved on and is still in business elsewhere, so I doubt he is short of a few bob.

Pete had two paper rounds at school and was the first to buy a car when he left. He was always going to make money.

Do I think a protest is required right now? No. Do I think it will have any positive effect? No.

Am I concerned that the club (specifically Webber's) refusal to engage with the independent press of Michael Bailey, The PinkUn etc is causing some supporters to feel that the club isn't listening to valid constructive criticism and is leading them to the protest route? Yes.

While all clubs have ups and downs, we support NCFC. We want NCFC to do well. The amount of opportunities we've recently had in terms of our promotions and EPL money compares so favourably to lots of other teams, and yet we've totally failed to capitalise on those opportunities. Through a lack of money available (down to the owners) to the dire state of recruitment, we've wasted the opportunities afforded to us and a set of fans rightfully feel aggrieved, a feeling compounded by the success that Fulham and Brentford have experienced this season.

These sorts of feelings are normal. Usually they're tempered with recent memories of the good times. But the ground was empty during our last promotion campaign, so those who go to Carrow Road and spend their hard-earned have instead suffered 2 seasons of utter dross with very few highlights. That's definitely feeding the negative atmosphere inside and outside the ground at present.

Largely the criticism has been that the owners seemingly want investment without giving up any control. Thus only being able to attract a couple of chancers for a small loan we had to repay.

Obviously we all have no idea whether there was any bigger plan with the Turners that could have developed over time. I just think 'we got the Turners in!' isn't a great argument for our owners track record of attracting outside investment.

For what it's worth, my prediction is that The Stowmarket Two and Webbers will want to head off any repetition of the chants at the last home game and it might well get a lot worse on Monday. I think that they may well release some sort of press announcement detailing further involvement of Attanasio, an 'exit plan' for The Stowmarket Two and a guffy, PR apology from Webber. That will take the sting out of any protests unfortunately.

Oh no not..... PROTESTS 😱😱

I have no idea why you blame me for you and others not protesting. It's the online age I guess.

This country as a whole appears to have lost the gumption to protest. And while we're not protesting the government are making it more difficult if we suddenly wake up to the idea we can protest.

A look over to France shows how easily we allow our rights to be taken off us without even a whimper.

If I'm there early enough on Monday I'll jog round for a gander. I did after the Spurs game and had a chat with a few from here who were looking on. Not protesting mind you. Maybe they saw me so thought "best not".

Amazingly my phone rang this morning, an international call. It was some bloke called Macron. He said "are you nutty Nigel off the pink un?" I told him I was. He said "can you tell me how you do it?"

Agree with a lot of this, especially the last paragraph about home fans not experiencing the promotion season, followed by 2 more season of very limited home wins.

I don't think Fulham is a comparable scenario though, they have done well this season but have spent £250 million during their yo-yoing in order to get to that point. Comparatively it should take us longer as we don't have the resource.
