Why is this forum closed to new members?

Maybe this is the plan to slowly let the forum die.

It's probably one of the least moderated forums ive ever been on which is odd considering it's based around a news paper.

It has always been moderaton lite since I've been on here and the only thing I've seen where there was a brief effort was moving non-football posts to the non-football board. It's fine as it is. I'm on another non-Norwich forum and constantly members refer to the rules themselves against other members and you get the Mods coming into to threads and having a go at people all the time. It's not a fun place to post so I lurk as much as possible.

Why thank you. Approved around start of business and join date 11hrs ago. Done. Maybe it was one of those Admins(one of them was online 42mins ago)

But thats with all the mods tagged, how long would you have been waiting if they weren't prompted? Forever?

And still don't know if the other 21 from the past month were approved at the same time. 

Hopefully the need to approve will at least be on somebodies radar and become a task on somebodies daily or weekly checklist.

Once worked for a big company – a short while after our division was flogged off the new owner came on tour and complained that the executive toilet was dirty. The double "l" seems a bit odd in both Icelandic and Faroese though, as anyone who has visited the most northerly village on the island of Kalsoy (Trollanes) will testify (and there's a gravestone to James Bond there, it was where the death scene in No Time To Die was set).

Probably a surprise to some  that I am one of the longest running posters on here and your right it's always been like this and it's much more fun.

A mod / member of archant asked me about my user name once and requested change it other than that never seen much activity.

That said , there have always been a small percentage of **** heads and breeze blocks around though, the current bunch are not much different.

Can't be me, I don't really like hills. (How the heck I ran a personal best in Torshavn last year, possibly the hilliest half I ran, remains a mystery even now and even though I smashed that with a PB on a much faster, flatter course in Verona this Feb).

Having been around a few online forums in my time I don't expect this one to be around much longer, which is a massive shame given that among the muck are some real gems of posts from people like Purple, Parma, ricardo etc.

But this forum wont be generating Newsquest any cash, probably costs a bit to run in terms of domain, server running costs etc and at some point everyone who used to be know about it will be long gone and someone will just plug the plug totally unannounced.

Might be worth having a backup plan, like a Pinkun forum FB group or similar.

What goes up must come down though! For some unearthly reason I run a course regularly in Sheff where there is not one stretch of anything approaching a flat road. I'm a glutton too ...

It's really rather easy to understand.

If there are people reporting other posters to absent mods then bans will be issued.

Both myself and Juan were reported by another poster. 

Having served the second of my 30 day bans following this poster pressing report on my posts i believe the next one is permanent.

I'm sure that will happen at some point, considering the dogged determination of this individual. I won't lose any sleep over it, it's just a forum, attached to a dying website with no decent content, and I can sleep easy knowing that I can both dish it out and take it, just find it a bit sad that this person has been at the front and centre of every drama on here for 6 years whilst simultaneously getting in the ear of the mod of the day. You know this of course, he's your mate.

My third and final ban could be in a month, could be in a year, the only certainty really is the username of the person who will work hard to see it happen. He will win eventually, oh well.

I'm not really enjoying being a Norwich fan at the moment, I've got no affinity at all with all but 3 of the players, and one of them is off, and we don't seem able to shake off these parasites names Webber and Ward, so that day, when it comes, it might be a blessing in disguise. What a shallow victory it will be.

Built a lovely city in Sim City 4 during that 30 day, called the city Teemu.

A week or so ago whilst banned I randomly had 3 moderators visit my profile in the space of a few hours. At that time, on that day, your profile and Greavsy's profile showed that you were both sending lots of private messages.

You will both succeed in getting me banned, almost there, just one ban to go, two down. Then, in some strange way, you'll both feel like you've accomplished something. And I'll be happy for you, I'll give you a well done sticker.

I dont think it'll be here next season either for the reasons youve posted.

Pete used to look after it in his spare time, theres obviously noone willing or interested enough to do that now which is understandable.  I reported the bad request problem months ago and was told it was on a long list for the NQ tech team, wherever they are to deal with, doubt a messageboard is a priority for Newsquest.
