NorthCarolinaYellow 199 Posted January 3, 2023 Born in Norwich … by accounts a City fan … nice balance of being fairly young but has extensive experience … currently has coalesced a slapdash ragtag group of Derby kids and aging vets into a high flying team chasing the autos … 11 league matches unbeaten … Why not him? If Webber hasn’t at least considered Warne as an option that’s madness.
canarydan23 4,762 Posted January 3, 2023 I'd have him here in a heartbeat.
NeymarSmith 136 Posted January 3, 2023 Warneiola ! That's what Rotherham fans called him right? Can't say his teams made me think that style but maybe he can play that way with this lot. Doubt we would pay what derby want to get him though
Top corner 260 Posted January 3, 2023 I wanted him after Farke was sacked, I really enjoyed his style of football, but I would be pleasantly surprised if he would jump ship after only recently joining Derby.
Well b back 3,605 Posted January 3, 2023 We missed our chance, why would he leave Derby now anyway?
norfolkngood 1,174 Posted January 3, 2023 would not look good on his CV jumping ship so soon i have known Paul Warne since we were both 20 he is very sharp he will know exactly when and where to move to if he thought Derby was a washout he would not have moved and waited for a chance somewhere else
Creedence Clearwater Couto 1,633 Posted January 3, 2023 Limited Manager. IMO, the Norwich job is too big for him. Derby would also be, if they weren’t in League One.
Capt. Pants 5,011 Posted January 3, 2023 A good guy but I would rather we took a punt on Robins as he's slightly more proven at Championship level.

Has Robins got that extra magic it takes to get out of this division? that’s my doubt

Apart from 2017/18 when he got Coventry promoted from League Two, and 2019/2020 when they won the League One title? You can't surely mean just his Championship sides, as there was never going to be any expectation at Barnsley or a broke Coventry to get into the top 6? He's got Coventry punching well above their current weight.

It will be interesting to see what he can do if Coventry’s takeover is approved this week by the EFL.
Worthy Nigelton 1,301 Posted January 3, 2023 Warne is a good manager. Whether he's up to our job or not I'm not sure but my god, would I be desperate to see him to succeed. Love him.
Coneys Knee 1,050 Posted January 3, 2023 I’d probably have Paul Warne just for next years derby fixtures. Norfolk boy, he’d understand what it means.

I admire your optimism but I can’t see anything but them getting promoted I’m afraid and as bad as we are, I don’t think we’re relegation fodder - not this season anyway. So it’s on for next season and it’s been, ahem, pushing something like 14 years since they’ve felt so confident!

Weird, Binners are currently third and falling, with Warne's Derby and Barnsley catching fast. I can see them slipping out of the play-offs again as last year. I have to say that appointing a manager with these successes as the "highlights" of a 15 year managerial career would be incredibly unimaginative. He is a journeyman who has been sacked by Barnsley, S****horpe and Huddersfield and has never finished above 12th in the Championship! canarybubbles 2,199 Posted January 3, 2023 They have a key game at home to Plymouth in about ten days from now. If they lose that, they'll have quite a bit of ground to make up. Come on Bali!

I cling to the hope that I remember reading an article about their current manager and how his training methods are so rigid that they end up boring players and that’s when he loses the players. How true I’m reality, I don’t k ow but I remember reading it shortly after he’d been appointed.
