Virtual reality 670 Posted December 18, 2022 This virus that has gone through a lot of this France squad looks like it’s taken it’s toll.

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 3,703 Posted December 18, 2022 One brilliant thing about Argentina winning this is that it's going to eat away at Cristiano Ronaldo for the rest of his life that Leo Messi won the World Cup and he didn't.

Canario 187 Posted December 18, 2022 Tactical masterclass from Scaloni though. France adopting the Norwich 4-3-3 to full effect.

TheGunnShow 5,807 Posted December 18, 2022 It's like 1998 - one team has not turned up for whatever reason. A few have said this virus could really have hit the French, and in 1998 Brazil's team were spooked over the original and best Ronaldo's fitness for the event, then he clearly wasn't right. Morocco, last World Cup against Argentina? Still you continue with the normal bollox
TheGunnShow 5,807 Posted December 18, 2022 xG is Argentina 1.46, France 0. Not even had a shot. Had more substitutions than shots!

Not sure really, Portugal are not as big and not as blessed with the number of players that Argentina have had at their disposal over the same time period. Argentina are guilty of blowing a lot of chances to win tournaments with players they have had over the years. Messi probably deserves it in all fairness. By far the best I have seen him play at an international tournament.

Whilst that is true, I'm sure that Ronaldo is more bothered about statistics, records and the 'Messi v Ronaldo' rivalry than Messi is. That's why it would bug him so much. Virtual reality 670 Posted December 18, 2022 Awful final for what has been an entertaining World Cup. Can’t believe the French would have turned up like this had it not been for the virus. Has ruined what should have been a good contest
