Why? He's an experienced coach taking his first managerial job. Not sure I get why it has to end in one extreme or the other.

Depends how you define success. Given Wigan are 3rd from bottom I doubt they are going to make a sudden push for promotion. However, avoiding relegation would probably be termed success, and rightly so.

I'm not saying CC is racist but black former pros going into coaching do get talked about like that more than white former pros going into coaching.

I dont think the Wigan fans were cheering enough. Or maybe the Conductor started them off in the wrong key , or didn't explain to the players whether they were playing classical or Jazz.
