World Cup Attendance Figures.

Recommended Posts

Yesterday the official attendance for Qatar v Equador was given as 67,000 in a stadium with a capacity of 60,000 and today they gave the attendance for Senegal v Netherlands as 1,700 above the capacity of 40,000 when the commentators said the ground had thousands of empty seats and probably only three quarters full.

Weird !

Considering the population of Qatar is only 200K, the rest are migrant workers, then they must all be going to games.

Or possibly some people have traveled from abroad!

Half the 200k are women and I haven’t seen many Qatari ladies attending.

They will count tickets sold not bums on seats anyway, so even an empty stadium would be announced as full capacity

They may be so but so far we have seen two games where the official attendance has exceeded the stadium capacity, one by 7,000 and the other by 1,700.

These represent the re-sold returns from people pissed off with the continued stance of the Qatari government towards LGBTQ+ people. So fully justified in counting these as well. Perhaps? 🤔

Weird !

unfortunately the numbers are fictitious, just like Qatar's record on Human Rights and Workers Rights. 💩

Argentina v Saudi Arabia announced as 8,000 above capacity. I am hearing what has been said about resold tickets being counted twice in the attendance but how on earth does that work when a tragedy necessitates a head count of those who actually entered the stadium ?

I haven't heard our attendance being given as 31,000 since our official capacity has been just over 27,000.

Tilly, the Qataris don't do tragedy and if they did they'll think of something to gloss over it.

As far as thery're concerned in Truman's World everything is always tickety-boo.

There will be no catastrophe, it's Qatar, it's perfect, nothing bad ever happens there. Official.
