yellowrider120 762 Posted November 15, 2022 One would hope your headline is a tad hysterical (note the word 'hope'). So far the key words would appear to be 'stray' and 'two'. To launch any kind of military response against Russia (if the key words are proven) would be wildly disproportionate and could prove disastrous.
Indy 3,298 Posted November 15, 2022 It’s now being reported by US, possibly an s-300 system anti air missile which is more likely to be Ukrainian air defence. It’s important not to get into anything before all facts are collected.

Hi Indy Exactly what I came on to say, although Russia use this missile as well it is in the main an anti aircraft weapon and seems unlikely ( but not impossible ) it would have been fired that far. Hitting stuff nearer the borders has always seen the highly precision missiles used. 'Who fired the missile is unclear' - security expert Josh Cheetham Open Source Analyst, BBC News TwitterCopyright: Twitter In the last few hours images have been circulating on social media, reportedly showing missile fragments from the scene of the attack in Poland. The BBC has been unable to verify these pictures, but we've spoken to three defence experts about what they show. Mark Cancian, from think tank CSIS, believes it may be from an S-300 system. This type of missile is typically used for surface-to-air attacks, and has been used by both Russia and Ukraine throughout the war. TwitterCopyright: Twitter "Who fired the missile is unclear," says J Andrés Gannon, a security expert at the US Council on Foreign Relations, who agrees that it may be from an S-300 system. "We know Russia has been using the S-300 for ground attacks even though it’s an air defence system, but Ukraine also uses them for air defence against cruise missiles." Dr Justin Bronk, a senior fellow at think tank Rusi, agrees that it may be from an S-300 system, but there isn't enough evidence to identify it yet.
