His arrogance at Bournemouth got him the sack no thanks

Who gives a sh*t at this point, two promotions from the Championship with two different sides in about 3.5 years in management.

His players play for him and he's a Championship promotion specialist.

Agree with Teemu get him in,  at the very least he has a style of play, but we also need a team that are willing to battle & scrap to win points, this lot are mainly a team of individuals that can't last the pace.

Until the end of the season.

£1m cash bonus and contract offer if he takes us up.

What do we have to lose?

He’s the most obvious out of work manager we could choose having two previous promotions from this league with two different clubs

Well technically he’s a canary…….legend 😂 a goal in 6 games is higher than Hugill!

He wouldn't be my first choice by a long way, but he is out of work and the cheap option.

The question is how bad do things need to be before  we sack Smith? Unfortunately we have a way to go and a holiday in Florida yet.

He looked very classy in his brief time here, I think it was obvious at that point that he was going to be some player.

Probably not affordable in a post-parachute reality, but the sensible gamble for a roll of the dice if he'll accept terms similar to those in my OP.

Hell, make it £2m bonus if you want. Promotion = extension option. No Promotion = Sorry can't afford you anymore mate, good luck.

WEBBER DO IT NOW!

I wouldn't have him. I don't think he's very good. Let's not get rid of a not very good manager and replace him with a not very good manager. Making a change is only worth it if it's an improvement. Just because it's sh*t now, doesn't mean changing it won't make it sh*tter.

It's like bringing an ineffective Hugill on for an (injured and therefore) ineffective Sargent.

If Bielsa gets the Bournemouth job I'd rather see Gary O'Neill in as our manager, achieved more than Parker with the same squad and knows the club.

My choice would have been Paul Warne, shame he has just gone to Derby. Or Emma Hayes, someone to shake things up.

I think we need youngish and hungry. Scott Parker might fit the bill, any newish manager needs to cut their teeth and learn somewhere. Might just be the right stage of his career for us.

But somehow our hapless owners and so called sporting director need to grow some cojones snd get rid of Dean Smith first. We know that they will just smile and be happy clappy for months yet however.......

SW: "Hey Mark, just to let you know that we've already spent half the £10m on dismissing Dean and his backroom"

MA: "Wait, you were PAYING that guy?"

Not sure about Parker, but I like the idea of a short-term contract and a huge bonus if we go up plus a longer contract. But will any decent manager go for it? And is there anyone not working at the moment who would give us hope that this season isn't a complete write-off?

Completely agree with that. One of those players that stood out, even at that age.👍

Would agree with your comparison but this ‘he knows the club stuff that gets offered’, how’s that going to make any difference?    Won’t make him, Robins or Martin any better at managing the team!

No, not Scott Parker.

He whinged that he couldn't do anything with that Bournemouth squad because it wasn't close to being good enough to compete in the Prem.

Gary O'Neil now has them 13th in the Prem.

Isn't he just Dean Smith, but a bit better?

Fans would hate him. He doesn't animate enough on the touchline and in his own words, he doesn't really attach himself to the clubs he's managed.

I'd have no problem with any of that but since Smith constantly gets criticised for not Waving enough...

He was embarrassingly good. Looked like a thoroughbred in a field of donkeys and I almost felt sorry for him playing here.

That said good players have a much patchier record when it comes to management and he seems a bit too flash. I get the feeling it wouldn’t be too long before he’d fall out with the Board but I suppose if we could sign him on a heavily weighted results based short contract he might be a better option than what we have at the moment

So just to review what's required.

Must wave to the crowd.

Must become immersed in NCFC.

Must play free flowing football for 90 minutes.

Must get promotion.

Must keep us up.

Must be able to make all fans happy.

Must not drink tea/coffee on the touchline from a mug.

Must hold interesting press conferences.

Must attend the AGM.

Must agree  and implement with all tactical changes suggested by fans on social media and message boards.

Must hold after match interviews that all fans agree with.

Must make substitutions that all fans agree with.

Any suggestions who fits the profile?
