Capt. Pants 2,570 Posted November 27, 2022 Hmm I think it was Kone who gave the ball away leading to Croatia's 3rd.

There are lots of reasons that countries produce great footballers. Sadly one of the main reasons is grinding poverty.

canarybubbles 1,173 Posted November 27, 2022 Germany are very lucky. If Japan had beaten Costa Rica, they were virtually out of the competition unless they beat Spain. Now they are probably just about favourite to go through, even if they lose to Spain, with one win and two defeats.

I've just put 50 at 14/1 on them to win the WC.
Capt. Pants 2,570 Posted November 27, 2022 Good start by Germany. Spain not yet getting those neat triangles working. Not so easy when there's an opposition.

shefcanary 1,260 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) These two sides can't keep up the pressing all game, it's frightening how they are nullifying each other. Phenomenal work rates from the front players of both sides. Edited November 27, 2022 by shefcanary

Capt. Pants 2,570 Posted November 27, 2022 Musiala might regret chosing Germany. They really need to produce a striker from somewhere in the next few years otherwise they look toothless.

TheGunnShow 3,929 Posted November 27, 2022 Germany are lacking a couple of yards of pace to be effective, and some of their older heads are definitely on the way down. No disrespect to Füllkrug as he's having a good season at Bremen, but he's not exactly an outstanding Bundesliga striker, and especially compared to the likes of Klose and Gomez before him. Capt. Pants 2,570 Posted November 28, 2022 Hughton is Technical Adviser to Ghana, not the coach. Seems to be giving them good advice, although it probably helps South Korea have been appalling.
