We can chortle at these anomalies but Italy won the World Cup despite not winning a group game and Argentina made a Final after losing to a fairly unknown Cameroon in the opening game.

They always seem to get better as tournaments progress but France and Spain both looked very good. And we have Brazil to look forward to later 😊

The result of.. MATH. And it seems simulating matches more than a thousand times. France v Belguim in a semi final would be spicy but I'm too sure about them winning even if Fance are not as strong as they were

Just bumping this down so you can see how the luck of the draw may impact. Spain and Brazil are in the same half, possibly with Argentina. Swap Mexico with the Argies and we could have France v Argies in the Round of 16. I may be reading this wrong of course.

It's safe to say there are certainly some Chris Hughton fingerprints on this Ghana team.

Can't wait for them to go 1-0 down and get really defensive! 😉

This guy's nailed it re. Portugal - and indeed why I think the Laws have been made too strict re. physical contact. Apart from that cracking slide tackle on Eriksen against Tunisia, have we had any proper tackles yet?

There should be a new rule. Go down easy and the opposition can choose one player to punch the offender in the face.

Portugal now reverting to get the opposition sent off rather than playing them off the park. Deserve to lose. Come on Ghana, have some conviction.

He may have got a toe to the ball, but the defender didn't foul him, Ronaldo ran into him. Ronaldo's face after it was awarded told you that.

YEEEEESSSSSS! GET IN.

Come on, Ghana. Knock the crap out of these diving di-ckheads. Break their legs, knock them out cold, punch them senseless, who cares. Just knock them TF out.
