Lewa was so emotional after that. Scoring in the world cup was one thing he desperately wanted to do in his career and it just hadn't happened. He talked about it in a pre tournament interview. Rough backstory too, His dad was the driving force behind his football development as a kid, and he died when lewa was 16.

635 career goals and to see him get emotional like that was quite something. He's in the top 10 international goalscorers in history now. Level with Pele on 77.

FIFA official says Ronaldo was a genius for getting his penalty. He waited until there was a touch and then went over he said.

I call it cheating.

Sunday Oliseh said it. Now there was a stroppy bar-steward.

Thought both the Ronaldo and the Saudi penalties were really good reasons why penalty kicks should be abolished, personally.

Interesting article in the Mirror that reckons our 2 refs, Taylor and Oliver, and the Dutch guy Makkalele, have been deliberately overlooked for games due to the way we have been over the One Love issue. I wonder if they will get a game soon or just come home, especially as the guy in the Saudi match from Brazil was on his second game. Also mentioned it was strange to pick 2 women officials on the list and they haven’t had a game yet either other than as 4th officials

The Denmark, France game looks like completely different sport compared to the tedious slow motion rubbish we endured last night.

I agree. The thought of us playing the likes of France or Denmark is frightening.

Come on Denmark, God knows the world doesn't need another France world cup win..

Unless Mbappe gets injured that's exactly what we are going to get.

Whats worse is Mbappe has ony just turned 23 years old and he's already breaking all the records. We still have another decade of him if not longer to deal with. God help us all

No one is getting hurt in that tackle unless they land badly, with everyone's feet up like that , it's a glorified trip.

Great noise from the crowd drowning out the commentators, which isn't a bad thing.

We'll see if FIFA are happy with an early Argentina exit tonight.

It’s one of those games where a bit of football is getting in the way of the fouls and theatrics…a rather weird watch (but still better than last night by a country mile!)

Watching RTE , less biased , unless Ireland play of course.

As much as i want argentina out...it might be in englands interest that they go through..but in second place. They would then play France in the last 16 and they 'might' then knock them out before we would have to play them
