£1,841 on what appears to be a scarf ?  In time honoured Tory tradition you have to wonder if it is a Truss family member running the club shop and they are just applying the standard markup for any directly awarded government supply contracts ... 😉

And this is the trouble, that we don’t make politicians accountable…..It’s on her expenses, they’re all given a set amount of expenses without the need for accountability…….it doesn’t mean they should be using it if it’s not really required….it’s yours and my money! It should be spent on schools and NHS not to be spent on personal gain, they get paid enough for that! It’s a disgrace and really needs to change, politicians should be made to verify and quantify every expense they claim by an independent body.

The amount spent in March was suspiciously similar to the cost of a home season ticket, and suspiciously close to the time they were first available. The total amount was the equivalent to 150 scarves. Maybe she was trying to bribe Tory party members with a city scarf. I mean, how else would she win a leadership contest?

There are levels to this. You know, like "Norwich level" and "ManUtd / Man City / Chelsea level".

Hard to know how to view this. Yes, MP's expenses again, but whilst there is a Conservative majority and the majority of those conservatives combined with others from other parties reject there being a constitution drawn up, or at the very least, more restrictions and scrutiny, this sort of thing isn't going to go away.

Add to that, relatively speaking, this isn't one of the bigger shock spends we have seen over the last few years, it certainly isn't for a 2nd home or a salary to pay a family member, or a duck pond etc.

Let's also not forget that cross party support has backed pay rises for MP's every time it has come up for the last ten plus years. All whilst the public sector has had pay freezes. Not forgetting that whilst they get paid high salaries they also get the benefit of subsidised food, MP expenses and a host of other benefits no one else does.

However, until the general population wake up to this and push for accountability and vote for leadership in parliament from their MP's that lead by example, not "Do as I say, not as I do", then this is what we have to put up with.

Big deal? It's the last drop of water on the tip of the iceberg but it represents a larger issue - so both yes and no.

It was an expression. Supporting a political party, regardless of what happens and what they do, is pretty much the most stupid thing you can do. Like disregarding all of the horrors of the 20th century and proclaiming “this one will be different!”

no, it won’t, they are corrupt. Bunch of Epstein Island weirdos.

It's for the Foreign Office, and it is not unknown for small gifts to be exchanged when visiting foreign dignitaries. We should be chuffed that NCFC products may have been used but then the article shows us the BBC didn't wait for a response from the FO to know exactly who or how these expenses were incurred. Quelle surprise!
