The NCFC & the Foreign Office mystery

There are a large number of MPs who do exactly that. They’re called the opposition. Then there are backbench MPs, many of whom do express their misgivings. But the organisation of Westminster and the main parties means that those with ambition to rise to positions of authority have to keep to the party line or remain on the backbenches indefinitely. You can call this **** licking but it’s not that different to most jobs. To expect MPs to bite the hand that feeds them is optimistic.

See Isabel Hardman’s “Why we get the Wrong Politicians” for more, although I found it a depressing read.

So yep…exactly the same as any other organisation or job.

And coincidentally why they also end up getting run by ineffective yes men who only care about themselves.

Why have you asked this question?

Because politicians are always keen on expressing an opinion until caught between a rock and a hard place.

Just in case you didn't notice, Ed Balls is no longer a politician, he hasn't been one for a while.

Nothing impresses a foreign diplomat more than being in a meeting with a representative of His Majesty's government, and them whipping out a beautiful yellow n green pen and notepad emblazoned with the canary badge..

So just a convenience then rather than a vocation that is genuinely believed?

Still a mystery even after the explanation.

Who knew you could get an 'overseas shared values childrens project' from the NCFC online shop?

Fùck me! Those departmental spin doctors had fun with that response! 🤣🤣🤣

Would be good if they could advise us of the navigation route on the Club's website in case we all want one.

Come to think of it any advice in navigating the Club's website would be helpful.

Hang on a minute, one of those payments is for £523.50, on March 21st, 2022. Isn't that about the same cost of a season ticket, at the exact time the club would take the money for next season (first deadline was March 20th, according to the table below)? 😮

Standard season tickets are £534.50, but it's coincidental that all the adult season tickets end in .50p and so does this payment. Perhaps the Foreign Office had £11 left on its account or something? The plot thickens...

Should be an interesting question for the next OSP meeting.

Could be that the season ticket is commission for the overseas children's project that facilitates the now PM making an occasional visit to Carrow Road without denting her household budget? By all accounts she probably visits Carrow Road more frequently than her constituency towns of Thetford and Downham Market. To be fair though apparently the new Health Secretary will  be the fourth incumbent of that position to visit the dilapidated hospital in King's Lynn in the past 2 years so maybe that compensates for it?

It's more a question for the Foreign Office than it is for the club, surely? All the club has done is sold stuff through its online platforms to people who want to buy it.

Yes, I think ultimately you are right.

What is perhaps more concerning is the Clubs own 'freedom of information and participation' regime. A generation ago this consisted of regular local roadshows that anyone could attend and ask a question backed up by the shareholder initiative. Now it consists of meetings of discrete groups with seemingly no consultation or distribution of Agendas pre meeting with the wider fan base then a significant post meeting delay in publishing minutes shorn of items deemed to be confidential that could lead to some non-shareholders being better informed than shareholders plus key information disclosed at a public meeting in Glasgow.

But you're a member of the Trust so you must get invited to submit items for their agendas ahead of their 4ly meetings with club officials plus get a copy of their minutes,   so not all meetings are confidential from you

Dozens of Norwich City kits bought by Foreign Office

The Foreign Office revealed it had bought 15 men's home shirts and 14 women's home shirts across a variety of sizes, along with two goalkeeper shirts and various shorts and socks.

In October, it spent £50 each on various 2021-22 tops and £60 for a goalkeeper shirt, paying half-price in March, with the shirts costing £25 and £30 each.

They should've gone to On the Stall City and got the kits much cheaper. 😀
