shefcanary 2,394 Posted September 22, 2022 So, Liz Truss, who was Foreign Secretary in the past, supports Norwich. And the Foreign Office spent over £1,800 in Norwich's club shop. Now that's support, but what did she buy? Kits for the kids, a couple of scarves, some nice training gear to go to the gym in? Come on Liz reveal all. Or maybe not.😖🤪🤭
A Load of Squit 5,161 Posted September 22, 2022 So our current PM has been using the government credit card instead of her personal one? Can we call it Canarygate?

Indy 3,297 Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) She’s not alone, they’re all the same, your money being spent on her frivolities……nothing new those in government readily accept any way of fleecing the taxpayers. Another reason to question our political system, it’s antiquated ways and protected from the common law by its misuse……I hate politics as much as religion, shame we can’t get someone in power who is honest, genuinely wants to do the best for the Country and it’s people! They’re not though, are they? There are lots of hard working MPs who spend many hours beyond a normal working day trying to do the right thing for their constituents or to improve the country, but that’s not an easy story so we don’t hear about them. Partly because the ones who do so are left on the backbenches so are relatively anonymous. 5

Though those aren't the ones that ever achieve any position of power because they're too busy doing their job to play the game, lick arses and toe the party line regardless of how it actually affects or represents their constituents. Too many politicians forget that they are there to represent the people in their constituency and think they are just their to further their parties aims, whatever they may be that week.... Why don't they do that part of their job? There are a large number of MPs who do exactly that. They’re called the opposition. Then there are backbench MPs, many of whom do express their misgivings. But the organisation of Westminster and the main parties means that those with ambition to rise to positions of authority have to keep to the party line or remain on the backbenches indefinitely. You can call this **** licking but it’s not that different to most jobs. To expect MPs to bite the hand that feeds them is optimistic. See Isabel Hardman’s “Why we get the Wrong Politicians” for more, although I found it a depressing read. Edited September 24, 2022 by Nuff Said 2
