CANARYKING 707 Posted September 22, 2022 Having a long weekend in Cromer, have “ permission “ to go CR for the game. What’s the best way to travel, is there a direct coach or is the good ole train the best and easiest ? Cheers

Mello Yello 2,572 Posted September 23, 2022 ...This is a great alternative... From the RNLI lifeboat launch station on Cromer Pier head South 50 ish plus clicks to Gt Yarmouth. Then turn right into the Docks/harbour entrance. You then follow the River Yare and go under the A47 bridge.....Head toward Breydon Water and continue on the Yare until a fork in the river where you want the sharp right and you need to go past the Berney Arms which will be on your starboard.....The Yare then meanders for a while (no Oxbow lakes) and you pass Reedham (mind the ferry) then the Reedham Ferry Inn which again are both on your right.....Thump along without a care in the world for a while, then you get to Cantley on your right and you pass a big sickly smelly sugary place factory thingy....Then it's past the Reedcutter pub (again on the right).... Now go for it and whizz along the River Yare and you'll pass the Beauchamp Arms on your left...The next feature is the Coldham Hall (a quaint Inn) and you're now on the outskirts of Brundall....Bob an' weave around those cheerfully chuggin' along on their broads cruisers, rental electric boats and canoes an stuff. Maybe you can also knock a few folk off their Paddle boards and leave 'em flounderin' fist wavin' an' shoutin' expletives at you as you throw them the bird?...Now you're past Brundall you can bomb along for a while and pass the Ferry House on your port side....Whack throttle fully open and take no prisoners and you'll get to the Water's Edge Pub on the left..... If you've got this far without being pelted with maggots and bait by feisty anglers....you're doing well....Scrape the splattered water fowl (and the odd remnants of a paddleboarder) off your windscreen, now it's God's speed as you're on the final run-in..... Zoom along and pass under the A47 flyover near Postwick heading towards Thorpe St Andrew....You come to a river fork, take the right under a railway bridge with the Rushcutters Arms on you're right, then again on your right it's River Green and Harley's coffee shop, then the Buck pub (closed down) then you'll pass the Rivergarden and Townhouse pubs both on the right....Not long now....Out under another railway bridge and back onto the main River Yare.....Follow your nose and give it some for the last mile or so....Passing under the last railway bridge Carrow Road is now but minutes away....Pass under Carrow Bridge with astonished supporters looking down on you - then it's ease off the gas and time to berth and tie up where Norfolk's finest Boys an' Girls in Blue will be waiting as your reception committee..... You may not get to see the game, but hey what the hell....You've had a great time getting there.....

But of course the poor old company owner is down to his last billion pounds and couldn't possibly pay those workers an inflation matching pay rise, whatever next..............
