Mr Angry 1,545 Posted September 21, 2022 An article from the BBC about the Montserrat national team. I’m rather surprised that there was no mention of Ruel Fox. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62926483

paddycanary 538 Posted September 21, 2022 Ah, Ruel Fox, still one of my all-time favourite players! Interesting aside for those with an Irish outlook: Montserrat has strong links to Ireland due to labourers, planters and slave-owners emigrating there over a long period of time growing sugar cane. Their flag has a woman in a green dress with a harp and they celebrate St. Patrick's Day on the 17th March although I think it's linked to their campaign against the slave-owners. A cousin of mine inherited a piece of land over there , went over to see it came back flabbergasted ...Rastas called McCarthy and Murphy.
