Im sorry but how is that relevant? As a headline? I've got a bad knee at present which likely will endure beyond the World Cup too and affect my chance of participating in it about as much as McCallum's

It's relevant. Like when they say a player will be out until after the international break. It gives a guideline about when they'll be expected to return. Usually their hope is the first game.

Metatarsal injuries are around 3months to recover from. The World Cup starts on 21st November and runs until 18th December. So three months is about right - lands you just before the start of the world cup. Our last game before that is Nov 12th. Three months from today. Our first game after that is Dec 26th.

So it is pretty much what they say, he'll be out until after the world cup. By which time he'll have had more than four months recovery time.

Its pretty relevant to the fact that we have one fit full back. And he is reportedly still interesting EPL clubs.

If a player is out until ‘after Christmas’ do you also wonder if they are Santa Claus and Christmas is cancelled?

I know we're splitting hairs here, but the Championship resumes on December 10. It's the Premier League that restarts on Boxing Day.
