I didn't go last night. What did you all think?

Looked really composed, got stuck in, I thought he had a very decent game. His penalty was absolute class too.

Given that we've signed four midfielders, though, I wouldn't be surprised if we see him loaned out to a L1 club where he'll get a bunch of regular game time... that'd probably be better for him than playing for our U23s with the occasional bench appearance for the first team.

I would see him as only one of a few last night to actually stake a claim in the first team 11.

Got a good'un I would say.

Got the mobility + engine for the position, good passing range and always willing to show for the ball. Was notable to me that he's quite small but protects possession very well with his body (think Emi) and all in all had a good game. And this was in a midfield 3 with Sara probably not very good at English yet and post-injury Dowell.

Think he's shown there's little point in another u23 season, so either he'll be in the picture with us or off on loan.

I went but got home too late to write a report. Briefly, I was very impressed with Gibbs, mature beyond his years. Hopefully another couple of inches in height and half a stone in weight yet to come. Otherwise an outstanding debut.

Sinani looked the part also. He was always a danger and put in a full shift.

I was relieved when Sarge tucked the penalty away. A calm head under so much personal pressure is a good sign.

The two South Americans looked the part also. What a cheeky pen from Nunez. Shows great confidence.

Interesting, because someone was saying on the Wigan match thread that the Huddersfield feedback was that he looked like a worldbeater in one game and then anonymous in the next. I barely noticed him on Saturday.

I think its pretty well known he's a bit Jekyll & Hyde from game to game. We need him to proof his consistency if he is to become a first team fixture.

Do we want Jekyll or Hyde though? 😂

But yes, it’s frustrating to know there’s a player there if he’s not doing it in any one game.

Watching Mulbarton ?

First preliminary round of the FA Cup. We beat Haverhill 2-1 aet. Both teams played some great football on a difficult pitch. Haverhill hugely improved on last season.

Mulbarton have started to give some game time to a 17 year old who is of the same height and build as Messi probably was at the same age. I dread to think what will happen to him when one of the opposition gets close enough but so far they've just tackled fresh air. We're away to Lowestoft in the next round and the general consensus is that he should be left at home in case he develops a liking for sea air......

Though he was only a substitute later in the game on Saturday, so you can forgive him that. It will be interesting to see how he does going forwards. I'm a bit sceptical about relying on some Huddersfield fans feedback, if it's anything like what we have on here, you can sort of take it with a pinch of salt.

He had a decent amount of time on the pitch v Wigan and just looked anonymous though. To earn the right to be a starter he has to maximise the minutes he gets, which he did last night by the sounds of it.

Saying that Sargent hasn't exactly pulled any trees up this season so he may have a case to be a starter ahead of him.

Sinani and Gibbs were the standouts yesterday, along with Nunez's brief cameo.

Gibbs looked really good, a nice blend of tenacity and technical skill. Threaded some nice slide rule passes in behind that would've been more effective with a better forward than Hugill in front of him.

Very encouraging to see him take his penalty as well (same for Nunez with his Panenka).

Clearly not. Thats why he needs to prove he can add consistency to his game.

I thought he should have had MOM to be honest. I hope he stays, rather than go out on loan.

He's 19 he's not gonna grow a couple more inches.

Not quite at the same level yet but certainly liking the comparison!

He seems to be really clear in what he's going to do, calm and fully confident on the ball with a knack of knowing what the right decision is with positional awareness of what is required and where he needs to be. Really good signs and rare in players of is age.

I agree, he looks to have a maturity well beyond his age.
