I’d seriously consider dropping Pukki deeper too. Couple of times yesterday he dropped deeper, took possession, turned and created chances. He’s very good at holding onto the ball. No point continuing him as an out and out striker without a proper number 10 and deep-lying playmaker, to move the ball quickly and incisively between the lines.

Even in his poorer performances under Smith, anything good that happened did tend to come through him one way or another.

I bet Pukki is much happier with Dowell in the team.

Creatively our best player, but as has been said not pacey.

So put engines and pace around him - let him use his brain and ability to find space for himself and others.

Its been crying out for this since Emi left, and not replaced

I have to say that his goal today is likely to be under-rated but was actually exceptional, he basically sold a dummy to virtually the whole Coventry defence and then finished beautifully

I think he’s been comfortably our best AM since Emi left and Cantwell went off the boil.

We’ve spent 18 months trying to play 433 and he always looked out of place to me over that time even though you could see he was one of the only players capable of serving Pukki.

I’m really glad to see us playing to the strengths of the talent we have.
