The club has it's own match preview here.

Wigan has it's preview piece here.

Ins, out's shake em all abouts:
Norwich City: Hanley is suspended for todays game, Byram remains out injured and Idah is deemed not yet ready to return. Sara and Dowell fit to play after not making it after late fitness tests last week. Nunez signed on Tuesday and is also said to be available. Ramsey signed recently but no news whether he will be included or not.
Wigan: not really finding much on their status with players injuries.

A Little Bit of Knowledge:
Wigan Athletic FC is very much a relatively new club in footballing terms having been founded in 1932 which makes it 30years younger than Norwich City FC. Their best ever league position was 10th in 2006 and their biggest trophy win was the FA Cup in 2012-13 beating Manchester City in the final - though, they set a record that season for being the first club to with the FA cup and be relegated in the same season. Realistically, most of their history has been spent between the third and fourth tiers of English football, but they managed an 8 season stay in the Premier league from 2005.

Wigan Athletic were first admitted into the football league in 1978 and claim local rivalries with Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City.

Nunez gets a go. Odd that Sara is on the bench given he's said to have been training all week while obviously Nunez has not.. I imagine he's playing behind Pukki, so lets see how much support he can provide

Sara is coming back from months of being off with injury, Nunez is match fit.

Not odd at all seeing as one was match fit when he entered the building and one was not.

Nunez! Can’t wait now

Looks like Cantwell further forward. Sara on the bench, no space for Dowell. Colour me intrigued.

Nunez straight in. Interesting!

4-3-3?

4-2-3-1?

No sign of Tomlinson on the bench? Or Gibbs for that matter. Very attacking bench there.

Re Dowell, Smith said it's a long season and they wouldn't risk players before they are ready. Thought he was talking about Sara, but might also apply to others with injuries

I’m very interested to see how we play, whether it’s 433 or more 4231.

Full of puntastic opportunities there!

Wigan going maximum Power at full Tilt to push Norwich.

Very excited about today. Assume it's Nunez going straight in. But somehow I feel it might just all click today. So hopeful in my bones. We may just score 3.

Edit: Fair play to Dean Smith for putting Nunez straight in.

Krul

Aarons - Omobamidele - Gibson - Giannoulis

Sorensen

Nunez - Mclean

Rashica - Pukki - Cantwell

Assuming it's that but it's pretty flexable.

I'm erring on 4-3-3 at the moment going on Nunez appearing to take Sargent's place. Then it'll be down to whether Nunez starts in the midfield three or on the right of the attacking three and Cantwell plays where he isn't.

An early glimpse of how Smith will accomodate 3 of Sara,McLean,Nunez and Hayden when all are fit.....he's going to play 3 if them at the expense of playing someone in the no.10 role.

Worrying and concerning in this league

Think it's more likely one will be a sub. We'll need a lot of depth this season in the middle of the park.

This is asking for trouble. Wholly subjective, like all the woke laws and rules.

Well its early but this is a crucial game. First home game on a glorious day. New signings in the squad and one playing. After last season and last Saturday's weak performance, the pressure is on already.

Stop this casual stuff Deano. The world plays attacking football now. No prisoners.
