yes dont see them around now, but they were a liability.

Surprised anyone didnt have career-ending injuries due to the close proximity.

Many of their occupants were war wounded. A close friend of my father's lost both legs in the war, and he went to Carrow Road in his. He liked to enjoy his football and had every right to do so.

I don’t think anybody is questioning their right to be at the footy😬

Then "liability" is the wrong word.

I suppose that their positioning may have been slightly dangerous, but I wouldn't know if a player was ever injured by one of them.

when pointers (fiat I think) used to sponsor the players cars they used to drive around the entire perimeter at 1/2 time.

Ricardo will remember one of our workmates at Jarrold, nicknamed Sticks, for obvious reasons, having one in the car park at the factory.

In fact, there is a Citroen dealer in a village near me who has several in a field behind the showrooms.

'Little Blue Invalid Cars' sounds like it could be the name of some moderately successful post-punk band.

It’s the b-side to a Prince single

They used to do doughnuts in the centre circle at half time.

It was the jumps over double decker buses that I liked best.

Invacars - distributed free by the Government - removed by EU legislation.

Thanks. I'd also be interested to know which bit of EU legislation that would have been?

From Wikipedia:

On 31 March 2003, all Invacars owned by the government were recalled and scrapped because of safety concerns.[5] The veteran vehicle could not meet modern-day government regulations, which required approval under the Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval scheme as part of a standard set by the European Union. There were still around 200 Invacars in Britain before the 2003 recall and scrapping programme.

Or maybe a B-side for Yellow Submarine.

Hardly any left as they were leased from government, so when they recalled were obliged to return them (no option to stick them in a garage)

I remember them. I used to enjoy watching them trundle round the side of the pitch. All part of the Carrow Road experience when I was a boy. Think they were mostly in front of the south stand near the river end? I also seem to remember they had a repair shop/depot for them above Rouen road car park.

Should bring it back this year for the new ‘Tampa Time’
