Ah the old 'you drive a car yet complain about global warming" style post, very good. Bealive it or not there are some good things on Twitter, mostly from official club posts and some decent  journalists. But at the same time, does not mean I am fond of the userbase and the utter nonese posts and 'banter' that goes on.

Not fair to single out Cambridgeo for this, at least one 'Senior Poster' said, and I quote ' twatter is a playground for fools'.... Only to use a tweet as 'evidence' shortly after.This is a man  , and I quote again, who ' doesn't suffer fools gladly '.

I mean something can be a cancer to society but still have some merits, he’s already explained that. These attacks seem a bit unnecessary and not really a gotcha moment.

It was the as a whole part I was questioning.  

Personally I think twitter has its uses and I use that platform.  However,  as an example,  I see no benefit in book of face, so I'm not on it. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the statement of something being that bad, but then using said source as a supply.

Pretty sure the as a whole part was talking about affecting humanity as a whole, not saying Twitter as a whole is cancer.

Thats my point, it can't affect humanity as a whole, and not all humanity uses it for whatever reason. 

If I view a platform as toxic, I dont use it, like Facebook for me personally,  and it doesn't affect me. I've no account, never have had never will have.

I mean, it's lots of things... the problem with social media is that there really isn't a useful alternative right now. Forums are a dying breed. Google's circle thing didn't catch on. There is Trump's... but lets not go there.

It's one of those minefields. It can be a brilliant way of organising clubs, groups and societies, as well as sharing things and staying in touch with distant friends and relatives. Equally, you can find a lot of horrible cowards who would barely say boo to a goose in the real world.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say you hate social media and also share things that are posted there. This is from the club account, and I don't think they share this sort of thing via their website. Cambridge is actually doing others a solid by sharing it so they don't have to go on social media if they don't want to.

I do find it hilariously funny though how many people roll out insults for the instagram obsessed masses, and twatter posters etc, yet quite obsessively stalk our players on the very platform they criticise... many who are old enough to know a lot, lot better.
