Nuff Said 5,937 Posted July 24, 2022 So the actual facts as far as I can make out are that the initial step appears to be a transfer of shares, it appears those belonging to Michael Foulger, but the word investment has been used, which implies funds in top of this. Timescales are in the weeks to hear more. And it hasn’t been confirmed, but it is pretty obvious that the party buying those shares is Mark Attanasio. Anything else is still only speculation. It looks like the theory that the announcement would come after the transfer window closes, to avoid prices for players we want being raised, may be true.

No one at the club to the best of my knowledge has said there definitely will be investment.

Come on guys, there's plenty written about this where the smart speculation suggests this is effectively the gate way into a wider take over in time. Suggesting this is going to immediately bring tens or hundreds of millions into the club is unrealistic.

Buying someone else's shares is not really investment I mean, it definitely is from their perspective. If you go and create a sharedealing account and invest £5000 in Google, you are buying somebody elses shares, and you'd consider that an investment. But I agree that as things stand I don't really see how this is good news for the club, the fans, and other shareholders, hopefully that becomes clearer once / if the transaction completes. I presume they'd want to take a seat or two on the board, and that they club might want to try and get something for that, e.g. an injection of capital. I can remember when the Turner's purchased £xm of shares and provided £xm of interest free loans in return for 2 seats on the board. One thing worth noting is that at the moment they are buying the shares of one board member. Will they be happy with the one seat on the board, or are they hoping for two? If two, what are they bringing to the table? That's perhaps where the goods news will come. Edited July 24, 2022 by TeemuVanBasten
