hogesar 10,542 Posted July 22, 2022 If Everton genuinely want him then we should be pushing for £20m inclusive of add-ons. They're really good at overpaying.

Branston Pickle 4,116 Posted July 22, 2022 Fine by me - keeping him would obviously be best but if the price is right we could get someone in and bank a bit of ££.
TheGunnShow 7,257 Posted July 22, 2022 Twenty million plus add-ons as a minimum considering the home-grown "tax".
Thumbbass 364 Posted July 22, 2022 They've only just bought Patterson who's pretty highly rated from Rangers. While Max has more Premier League pedigree, would they be looking at another young right back?
TheBaldOne66 768 Posted July 22, 2022 (edited) His price has considerably dropped from 3 years ago, so if we can get 15million then we should take it and wish him all the best as he chose to stay when big clubs were sniffing around previously Edit: I’m sure Terminally Yellow or Hogesar will be along soon to tell me I’m talking **** and his price hasn’t dropped 🤣🤣 Edited July 22, 2022 by TheBaldOne66

Or why don't you tell us all about how amazing Forest and their owners are for not getting relegated to the third tier ever?
Nexus_Canary 1,183 Posted July 22, 2022 I hope he goes to link up with Farke, for someone like Aarons that would be a far better move than to Everton to face relegation all over.
lincsy88 102 Posted July 22, 2022 Not being funny but Spurs just paid £12mil (rising to £20 mil) for Djed Spence who hasn't played a minute of Premier League football and Brentford paid £14.85 mil rising to around £18 mil I think for Aaron Hickey then surely Max Aarons has to be valued more than £15 mil. Got to hold out for £20-£25 mil for me (maybe I have Y&G glasses on) but surely that has to be the going rate.

It could be argued that Aarons is tainted by 2 bad relegations, so there are question marks on whether he is at that level? The other 2 as yet aren't known in the premier league ...athough Hickey did get absolutey roasted by Ukraine in that world cup qualifier

Ah you mean when I actually asked a question, clue was the question mark which you obviously missed as I never stated we were in a financial crisis at all, again, I’ll say it, the clue was the question mark and I asked if we were that’s all, but, as you get so much delight out of putting people down, I will say obviously you are too thick to understand it was a question rather than a fact as the question mark obviously is something you know sweet FA about! 😎

Capt. Pants 4,888 Posted July 22, 2022 I really hope Max stays but if the Everton link is true then we have to milk it for every penny we can. £15m is nowhere near enough in the current climate. We should also invest every penny in the playing squad this window.

Ulfotto 775 Posted July 22, 2022 It all seem highly unlikely but it is not a transfer window without Max Aarons being linked with a move away. I would imagine aboard is more likely given the teams who might want him Forest, Brentford etc.. have bought RBs already in the window.
shefcanary 2,904 Posted July 22, 2022 Only EPL teams can afford £15m plus for a RB. I doubt European clubs not in the ECL could afford anything like that (10m Euro's at most). I think this is just a last roll of the dice by Max's agents to see if they can drum up some action.

Pyro Pete 2,321 Posted July 22, 2022 I will reiterate that after our last game of the season, Aarons did the 'lap of appreciation' on his own, at the back of the group, applauding all sides of the ground. Only me, a handful of others, and the stewards were there to see it. But we applauded him right back. Make of that what you will.

canarybubbles 2,159 Posted July 22, 2022 Sadly, I think for Max's own sake, he should move on. He looks like he is stagnating here and needs a new challenge. We should hold out for an absolute minimum of 20m, though.
pete 362 Posted July 22, 2022 £15m is good price for Max, given how his ability has decreased season on season since his debut. Overpricing him may mean he stays and is unhappy. Sending Mumba on loan looks rather silly, Sorensen might get a solid starting position.
norfolkngood 1,172 Posted July 22, 2022 PL team and 3 European Clubs = should equal more than 15 mil Good Player good pace and most important a very good professional i think playing alongside Godfrey would be good as when Aarons bombs on Godfrey has the pace to cover something we lack in our CB's

Loaning out a player we don't think is ready and was clearly not wanted by championship sides was silly? We'll be ready to move on a replacement for Aarons as soon as the talks get serious. king canary 8,644 Posted July 22, 2022 Fundamentally Aarons is worth what we say hes worth. The consensus seems to be we're largely happy with our squad and don't need to sell to fill a black hole or fund a big rebuild in other positions. So any buying club has to make it worth our while, in which case we'd either need £20m+ or a deal we think gives is big upside in the future- ie something with a large sell on clause- to make us settle for less
Ulfotto 775 Posted July 22, 2022 Is there an opportunity for a player swap deal maybe? Couldn’t see many of the first team trading Everton for Norwich. Looking down the list maybe Mason Holgate (they have a lot of centre backs) or am I being in saying totally unrealistic in saying Tom Davies.
