Hayden injury

Recommended Posts

I did half wonder why (given the hype), no PL club didn't come in for him. Given Smiths comments from Germany, we now sadly have our answer. At least it wasn't an 'obligation' to buy, was it??

Leg fallen off? Lost an eye? Aah no, just being cautious on his way back from injury. Now wipe up your mess.

Smith said his knee has swollen up, what a surprise!

As I said previously on a different thread and got slated for it, he’s another Normann!

I doubt he will play more than 25 games if we are lucky this season 🙈

When the gaffer says ........"it's giving us some concern' that's not actially good news I'd suggest. I tend to agree with TheBaldOnes' post on this matter. You have a more upbeat view clearly. Time will tell.

he has had a long lay off and a serious injury so really nobody knows how it will heal or how that will effect him in future

even Doctors and medical staff can say yes you are all fixed then next game it can give way

the one thing i would say is that is why he is here though

a fully fit no injury Hayden would be in the PL not in the champs

i have no idea if this is a ongoing thing that might go on all season or just because he is training again

Byram was a sicknote when we signed him. Hayden has an injury.

And has been ever since.

Let's not forget he missed 20 months through injury for us.

Fingers crossed he can stay fit now.

Totally agree with you on his injury but why should we take a risk / gamble for such an important role? I hope and pray this "swelling which is causing concern' can be quickly fixed with some rest and the correct treatment but I fear the Geordies saw us coming and were  pleased to offloaded him. Seems there were no other takers. Tells it's own story unfortunately. Might be back to Square One!!

If he hadn't had the knee injury he wouldn't be with us, he would be playing in the Premier League at a midtable side.

Bit of swelling after a long-term injury having joined in with the first week of pre-season - you'd have to say taking him out is sensible. Bit early to suddenly claim he won't play 5 games for us.

If it wasn't for the injury he would be playing at a lower level prem team. He's not a top half player despite what some people thought when he signed but is definitely better than the championship. For him to sign for us on loan for a season a risk has to be involved. I agree it's a risk in such an important position where we have very little cover that we trust but we will have to wait and see if the gamble works.

We have had two seasons looking for a CDM and to get one who has not really be able to show he has recovered from a serious injury is a concern

Smith said he was concerned not that it was just a knock or slight reaction which is also worrying

Bit of an over reaction, it’s almost like some people want him to fail

I hope no one wants him to fail but it is a worry. I am personally still more worried if Pukki gets injured. He's 32 and still the only player in the squad I would put money on to score goals this season.

Cantwell 10-15

sarge 10-15

idah 10-15

Rashica 10-15

Plus several others who are more than capable of hitting at least 5

'Waiting and seeing' isn't a strong trait on here though, people need to be judge, jury and executioner after five minutes for some reason.

I take it you did watch Rashica's pathetic attempts to score v Brentford and Brighton?

As I’ve said before, he was back in full training at Newcastle at the end of April. It was hoped that this would get him up to speed so that he would be ready to hit the ground running for the new season.

It’s surprising that his knee has only swelled up now-maybe it is unrelated to his injury and operation.

If sarge controls the ball in 10-15 touches I would be happy. I love the optimism, I just don't see it myself. It will be interesting to see who is right come season's end. I'm guessing 20 between them with Idah getting most of them.

I have a wager on with a mate, he claimed that Sargent will outshoot Idah this year. I most definitely disagree- I think Sarge can be important this year but I see this as basically printing money.

I think your on to a winner. I am really hopeful we will play Idah and Pukki together as we did before the injury last season as that looked really promising. My guess if he plays most games he  would be into double figures. As for captain USA im expecting 2 or 3.
