Cooper is a good manager or at least a good fit at Forest i think they will do well

Impressed when watching them in the cup last season

One way to spin it I guess.

Alternative is they just bought a striker with a goal every other game last season and a keeper who kept 13 clean sheets in a season for a newly promoted Sheffield United.

They've also made these signings while signing their best player to a new contract rather than flogging him to raise funds.

I think it's worth noting they paid £17.5m for a striker that looked handy for Union Berlin who finished 5th. A bit weird that a player who has seemingly done well for a team in the Bundesliga who are now surely knocking on the door of a top 4 spot. Looks to be a decent gamble, if expensive.

Henderson is no slouch, but hasn't been anywhere but back up at Man Utd for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. In that time he made 29 appearances, 16 of which in the cups. The season prior, he was at Shef United. He's solid enough.

They represent two of Forests 4 signings so far this season. One of the other two was signed for their U23's apparently. The other is a 22yr old defender from Troyes.

Brennan Johnson, who you say is their best player, is 21, and has just completed his 2nd season of professional football. Not sure I would be comparing him to Buendia just yet. Not only that, when promoted with Buendia the first season, we certainly didn't sell him then either, we bought out his sell on fee. Then there is the bit about him being happy to commit to a new contract which Buendia was not and wanted to leave etc, and the rest is history.

At this point, it's very much worth waiting to see how this pans out for them. I wish them better luck than us, because lets face it, why would you not.

We ‘flogged’ our ‘best’ player because he didn’t want to be here and villa made an offer which was well over what he was worth

good move for all parties

The fact you can only name 3 comparable clubs (even thats arguable) speaks volumes.

For what it's worth, I'd love the Norwich equivalent of a Brighton Owner.

Probably, although margins are always so fine at the absolute elite level. Doesn't detract from the overall point regardless.

Why is it that you and the Suffolk Socialists have such poverty of aspiration? Why is it that you will point to a Bolton instead of Southampton; Wednesday instead of Palace?

It seems as though there is a body of support at Norwich which craves stagnation. They wish to neither move forward nor backwards in equal measure. It stems from the mindset of the Socialists themselves. The current yo-yo is the manifestation of this mindset.

The problem with stagnation is that you move backwards incrementally so that each attempted leap forward becomes harder and the cost of each leap gets greater. The manifestation of this is finishing bottom of the EPL on each occasion.

To break this cycle you first have to believe. This intangible does not exist anywhere in and around the club. It is self-defeatist by nature. Lacks confidence. Lacks vision. Lacks boldness.

Fortune favours the brave not the meek. Failure to take up the American offer will be an abject capitulation to meekness.

No doubt a great player in championship but so was Ross McCormack - a player who has just completed his second season in premier league with a different club and they want rid already and wasn’t over priced?

Superb player but questionable attitude, villas problem now

A bit like people on here who ignore our seasons of failure really isn’t it?

There have been a few in the time they’ve been away but unlike us they didn’t go to League One for a season did they?

And before you say it, I’m just putting your comment into perspective about their years of failure

Quiz question : which European Cup winner was subsequently relegated to the 3rd tier of their domestic league ?

At last. Someone who knows what the American offer is. So, er, what exactly is it, Big Vince? Just the five or six salient points will do.

Marseille, because of certain financial irregularities?

The same price we were last season to survive, 4/5. They still need to add more quality to the squad but should make a better fist of it.

Think it was less that he didn’t want to be here and more that he thought he was worth more than we would pay him. He’s hardly gone to Villa to win trophies it was always the money.

The pain of this injustice has lasted 40 years; 40 years of hurt that time hasn’t lessened nor becalmed.

No they don't. The whole 'Emi leaving Villa' thing was based off Noel Whelan baselessly speculating.

Looking it up, Marseille seem only to have been relegated to the second tier in France, and while Juve were sentenced to dropping two divisions that was reduced on appeal to relegation to Serie B.

They relied heavily on 3 or 4 loan players to get promoted. They’ll have to spend 50 million just to replace them.

That was part of the reason why Villa spent so much.

1. Wynnie to step down from the board to move to Zurich to take up new role with FIFA.

2. Delia to step down from the board and take up new role as Labour peer in House of Lords.

3. Attanasio to buy one million unallocated shares at £100 each.

4. Nepotism Tom returning to MoD to procure contracts at a loss to HM Treasury.

5. Americans to take 4 seats on the board.

6. Existing stadium to be demolished and replaced with purpose-built 45,000 seater state-of-the-art Canary Dome on the same site.

7. Norwich City to share Portaloo Road with Ipswich during construction.

That is spookily weird that the Americans’ offer is exactly the same as your Norwich City Christmas fantasy wishlist…
