Scott Twine off to Burnley for just 4 million quid

Recommended Posts

There were rumours a few months ago we had this player on a shortlist. Thought Burnley were a 'basket case' and had 'terrible owners' and we were so much better than them? Twine is very highly rated so Webber had better pull a good old rabbit out of the hat now!

Burnley the tiny fishing crackhead village with debt it can't get rid off and whos best players are fleeing like rats on a sinking ship and he would rather sign for them.

Round of applause for Webber 👏👏👏  (although can he hear us up that mountain..?)

This will disappoint Ipswich fans, some of whom genuinely believed they stood a good chance of signing him this window.

No, I'm not joking.

What in the flying f*ck are you on about? There's absolutely no evidence we were even interested in him! How on earth can you give Webber stick for something you just made up?

I’m very much in the fence on this one - there is a massive gulf between Champs and League 1.  There’s a lot more players who haven’t made the step up than those that have.

Sportsmole, the well known fabricated news site, posted a rumour that about 17 clubs were interested in him, including us. TotalNorwich, another fabricated, made up clickbait site then said we had basically signed him. That's not evidence, it's made up rubbish, fake news on the Internet that most 10 year olds could identify as unlikely to be true.

Webber Pie sounds like it could be a very tasty delicacy, of course I won't be partaking being a Vegetarian and all.

Oh I believe you, they signed a Barnsley player who then flopped hard. Conor something? Edit: Conor Chaplin.

No better than what we got

Might disagree there, our set piece work last season was woeful.   This kid has great delivery, a free-kick specialist and is creative in the central areas.   He probably is better than what we have, is quite young and has great potential.    I'd have him ahead of Dowell!

9 in 39 is not quite a flop but it's not exactly what you need for promotion

No worries but very different doing it in league one compared to both the premier league and championship

I dunno. Grant Holt did pretty well. Wes was also in League One before playing in champs. I seriously think Twine has special ability. The amount of goals and assists from AM were excellent last season and he can take a set piece too.

Time will tell but that looks like an excellent bit of business from Burnley to me

He's the sort of youngster that Id love to see brought in, but as has been said, league one to top end Championship is a massive jump.

We do need creativity in this team and I'm hoping that our next signing is someone capable of offering that a bit more than what we've got.

No but also yes. They also paid 3/4s of a Million which is getting on for a Championship fee.

There's more chance of Emi Buendia coming back this transfer window than there is of Burnley being a fishing village. 😉

I was clearly over exaggerating for comedic and derogatory reasons but for some reason a lot of people seem to take everything on here seriously. Probably as we have a lot of grumpy old farts on here with no sense of humour, but what can you do.  I still love you all 😁 (And I hate to be the bringer of bad news but I'm not planning on going anywhere and as long as this place remains up I shall be here.. And I'm so, so sorry to have to tell you that!)

Did you get Burnley mixed up with Blackpool, perhaps? I'm just wondering how you got Burnley down as a fishing village.

I mean both are full of crackheads so really much difference? Although at least Blackpool has a tower I suppose..

Appreciate that in general play and nothing suggests he can't step up, but a free-kick is uncontested.   The goals are all the same size and top corners don't move!   Also if the lad can put the ball in dangerous areas, it's all improvements on what we have and frightens opponents.

Well, Blackpool's on the coast. Burnley's 35 miles inland!
