I see the Flan of the Season thread has gone (again)

It does seem remarkable that some people can get away with continually spouting genuinely offensive garbage on some threads, but a few silly and essentially good-natured threads to get through the boredom of the international break are taken down.

Still, priorities, eh? 🤷‍♂️

Agree completely . I think a bit of silliness is exactly what is called for after the trauma of a shockingly bad season .

I guess the mods would just say that’s  hard cheese . 🧀

It's not really monitoring more censorship, and clearly carried out by a person without the wit to be emboldened with the power of censorship in the first place.

It was all just harmless (very) silliness during a void weekend, which paled into insignificance when pitted against some of the nonsense allowed on here on a regular basis.

Ha ha - what an extraordinary reaction.

It was obviously the Quiche jokes that sent them over the edge

Is a flan and a quiche the same thing? Because I'm under the impression they aren't. I'm going to start their own thread so they don't get missed out

I think you'll find a quiche is called a flan in Norfolk.

I've lived in Norfolk most of my life and have always called a Quiche a Quiche. Mind you, I call Ladybirds Ladybirds as well...

I agree, this a very important issue...can you also ask at what point these pastries may become a tart? 🤔🤣

Apples

Are they not both types of tart?

In the same way Apple, and Steak & Kidney are both very much pies, but also very different types of pie

Is a Jaffa Cake a cake or a biscuit?  It took HMRC about 30 years to come up with a conclusion, for the courts then to throw it out!

Can I bring Frittata into the equation? It’s just a quiche without the pastry surely?

More an omelette with ideas above its station .

In America a flan seems to be a crème caramel-and as it is of Spanish origin, the correct pronunciation has it rhyming with lawn-which I remember was how it was pronounced in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
