CrankyCanary 32 Posted March 23, 2022 There's a young midfielder called Dawson Devoy in the League of Ireland Premier division, who is 20 and is one of the most highly rated youngsters in the division (He Won last year's player of the year award for the whole of ROI). He plays for ROI U21 and for Bohemians, and has made nearly 50 Apps over 3/4Seasons. He recently rejected a move to MK Dons in January. Would he be a good signing for us? Tetteys Jig 830 Posted March 23, 2022 Sounds like he’d cost too much for our model.

Would he want to join us is the real question

Inch High aka Inchy.. 405 Posted March 23, 2022 The League of Ireland Premier division is quite a lightweight league which is comparable with our national league in terms of skill.
Ulfotto 623 Posted March 23, 2022 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60832817 Read the whole of this article, it seems the pipeline that got us Idah, Omi and Hondermack has been all and truely discovered by others.

NeymarSmith 130 Posted March 23, 2022 Whatever happened to hondermark? I take it he didn't make it here so anyone know the inside track? Anyone remember us signing a promising young striker called Cole Lambert? Also, is omotoye or Dicken peters doing well on loan?
Year of the tiger 54 Posted March 23, 2022 Hondermarck is at Barnsley, he’s made 7 appearances I think. Don’t think Kole Lambert has a club

Sinani was playing in the Luxembourg Top flight and there and LOI are both roughly a much of a muchness, and a few seasons later he's doing well in the championship. Devoy is also two years younger than Sinani was (when we signed him).

We weren't the first club to discover that the LOI has talented youngsters. Home Farm F.C. formerly Home farm Everton, springs to mind as an example of what I'm getting at. The only one since then was in the FA Cup on the 8th Jan. That the situation you meant?

paddycanary 538 Posted March 24, 2022 Paul McGrath, Steve Staunton, Seamus Coleman, Roy Keane and a certain mercurial Shelbourne midfielder all plied their trade in the League of Ireland before carving out impressive careers in England.
