sgncfc 1,330 Posted March 15, 2022 This totally scumbag club have now asked for their FA Cup tie to be played behind closed doors to "maintain sporting integrity". It is simply incredible that whoever is now in charge of this excuse for a football "club" thinks they have such entitlement that having 20 years of success on the back of very dodgy money, gives them the right to claim "integrity" is compromised if their supporters can't get to Middlesbrough. Unbelievable. How wonderful it would be if the authorities rescinded the trophies they won since 2003 and demoted them 3 divisions. We'd see how many "supporters" they had then. The Real Buh 3,765 Posted March 15, 2022 They’ll let them play it behind closed doors as well, just wait and see.

Heard that this morning. You really would have thought they would have kept their heads down after the Abramovich saga but no chance. Their attitude is appalling but no surprises there. yellowrider120 917 Posted March 15, 2022 The Govt are not best please with the self indulgent, former money bags club if this is correct (from BBC Football website)......... Analysis BBC sports editor Dan Roan Within government I am told by one senior source that there is "exasperation" at what was described to me as a "tin-eared request" by Chelsea to play the match behind closed doors. Officials feel they are bending over backwards to allow Chelsea to play with a special license when other businesses in similar circumstances would not have received such assistance, and that they have been listening to the club's concerns. But the feeling within Whitehall is that Chelsea are now trying to penalise other clubs for the predicament that they are in, and are mystified they are prioritising tickets and travel arrangements. I am told Chelsea wanted more than 4,000 fans at Middlesbrough rather than the 500 they were due to have, and that this is seen as "throwing their toys out of the pram" at the first opportunity.
Yellow Fever 4,415 Posted March 15, 2022 Frankly, they just need to accept the medicine. Also - even in EPL matches should their mindless fans start chanting 'Abramovich' again given that he's sanctioned I would allow the match to be stopped and forfeited there and then - followed by an indeterminate ban on all Chelsea fans attending any match home and away until such time as the club is sold, wound up or the Ukraine crisis passes. WD40 726 Posted March 15, 2022 I went to the Stamford Bridge drubbing and unfortunately had to sit with the Chelski fans. In the throng leaving there was one guy yelling: ”We’ve got Abramovich, you’ve got a mad b*tch” Obviously in reference to Delia. When they’ve just absolutely destroyed us. All class that lot. Let them rot.

cambridgeshire canary 7,799 Posted March 15, 2022 It's not just one or the other is it? Either 'poor owner with no money and well run club' or 'Rich owner but corrupt and awful in every way' It's about trying to find a balance I would like to think although its fair to say the kinds of people interested in buying clubs don't tend to be the moraly sound types.. Thumbbass 367 Posted March 15, 2022 In the interest of sporting integrity they should be made to have a starting 11 of the same value of the opposition. As judged by me. Tuchel, get your gloves you're in goal bud.

Jim Smith 2,610 Posted March 15, 2022 If I was a Chelsea fan I think i'd just have to take what comes on the chin now on the basis they've had a damn good run of it with 5 prem titles, 2 champions leagues, 5 FA Cups, 3 Europa Leagues over the course of Abramovich's reign. Very few sets of fans will experience that in their supporting lifetime. That said I somehow doubt they are going to end up as relegation fodder. They will get bought by someone super wealthy and still be pretty competitive even if not quite the force they have been.
CardiffCanary 163 Posted March 15, 2022 I can see it kicking off when they’re against West Ham if they continue their abramovitch chants with yarmelenko on the pitch. absolute scum

Yeah apprently they cannot fly up north so it is now a 10 hour 'grueling' coach journey haha. I hope the FA refuse, would be a disgrace if they agree to play the game behind closed doors. I have respect for Boro after the walk down Wembley way after the play off final, I had to leave at final whistle, me and a mate were the only green and yellow we could see in a sea of sad red n white, yet they were all very sporting, no insults , just ' best team won ' ' you were much vetter on the day etc etc" decent bunch . Bollix to Chelsea.

Bollix to Chelsea. I was in a similar position to you after the play-off final, left as soon as the whistle was blown. One p1ssed up Boro fan called me a Norwich W@nker and looked like he wanted to have a go but several others told him to back-off and even pushed him away from me. That summer I was best man at a wedding in Yarm and was given loads of stick during my speech (they kept shouting for subtitles 😀) but I didn't have to buy a drink all night. Capt. Pants 5,013 Posted March 15, 2022 A real scumbag of a club. I hope they cease to exist. Chances are they will get a buyer but you'd have to be very brave to commit to the sum of money Abramovich would like in the current climate.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,035 Posted March 15, 2022 (edited) Right now...no....at any point over the last 20 or so years ,yes Unfortunately they can never take the trophies theyve won and the fans experiences of winning them during that time ....unless of course they can? mastoola 204 Posted March 15, 2022 Would 100% prefer to be Chelsea. At least they are about to be sold to people who have a clue and can afford to be the owners of a prem football club. I personally would love that scenario for norwich

I hoped that person didn’t paint a picture of all Cheski supporters, but what you’ve just posted has done so otherwise.
