Club Bans Ukrainian Flag Display

Recommended Posts

What a disgusting decision by the club.

We often hear about their values and how much they mean - what kind of message does this send?

Morally contemptuous

The whole football administration ties themselves in knots about what they allow and don’t allow in terms of political messages and hypocritical justifications. It’s a farce.

This is a horrendous decision.

I really can't understand why they would stop people bringing a Ukrainian flag tonight, like someone has already mentioned, tonight's game would be the perfect opportunity for us to show our feelings towards Ukraine. The club has got this massively wrong.

It's an act of absolutely staggering cowardice and hypocrisy.

Webber should never talk about values again.

Does anyone know where you can buy a Ukrainian flag in time for tonight's game?

Anyone got access to a large colour printer and stock of A3 paper? Print a load of these off and hand them out outside the ground tonight.

Don’t want to upset Chelsea so it gets banned. Against any other club you’d be able to use your old lad as a flag pole and swing it all match.

You know those three colours would make for a decent away or third kit next season..

This really is a very poor decision indeed, especially coming after Saturday’s flag display. We don’t want to upset anybody by pointing out that large numbers of innocent Ukrainians are being murdered by a Russian thug. Time for a rethink.

If this doesn’t happen I bet we’ll get a grovelling apology tomorrow saying somebody at the club got it badly wrong. Correct it now!!!

I suppose the club is forced to follow the directives from the Premier league.

Premier League TV coverage WILL return to China for Thursday's four matches after last week's boycott as the top flight drops its 'Show of Solidarity for Ukraine' following Russia's invasion

Yep! Seems we've joined in with the sports-washing credo of the PL. A very sad day.

Another disgusting decision from the Premier League, but, did the clubs have a say in this or was it an arbitrary decision, so they won't lose the money from China? Disgusting either way.

The Premier League is corrupt. Plenty of us have been saying that for years.

Will the anger and ire toward our club from posters on this thread now be directed to the PL?

Remember the outrage in the spring of 2020 where posters on here were heralding a great reset after Covid? It never happened. Other people's money soon returned to the throne.

Russian Oligarchs would have been welcomed on here just a month ago...

Exactly this Ken. 👏 f*ck this hypocrisy bulls*it. British democracy freedom of speech now been manipulated by Chinese 💰. Small flags. Big flags. Face painting. I'd love to see how you Police this nonsense.  Norwich Fans show your solidarity with Ukrainian colours. Tonight.

This is about a Norwich city decision. You just can’t ever criticise them can you.

All about money. Yet another reason for the Ukraine flag to be flying.

That’s just clearly wrong - some will clearly bash the club and double down when shown to be incorrect, which is pretty silly.  This will be a PL edict.  I can’t see how they can control chanting or people who bring things in, though.
