Don't get me wrong coutinho is a great player and all but when clubs like Villa can find a way to pay that yet we seem to struggle to find a way to sign players on above 20 grand a week.. To be fair around 30 grand was/is paying Ajer it seems so I applogise for being a little off, but end of the day the fact that we came so, so close to signing him only to turn him down over only around 10 grand extra that we did not wish to pay is still annoying I mean can we say that Ajer is any worse than Gibson or Kabak? We never got close to buying him (according to the press anyway - do you have "inside knowledge"). We made 2 bids, as did Newcastle but Celtic wanted more.
