who is there to replace worthy, or do we stick with him

Recommended Posts

maybe we are turnin a corner, the performance still wasnt good enought by a long way but the result was what mattered at the end of the day

there is not 1 manager out there at the moment who currently isn''t in a job who is good enought to take this club forward, maybe worthington has took this club as far as he can take them but there is no point sacking a manager having a caretaker boss for a couple of weeks then installing a manager with no qualities or any experience.

so if the club are to stick with worthington, we might as well do what the norwich fans are best at doing "get behind the team" not sayin get behind worthy but or we can do is get behind the team and see them playing like the old norwich we know

Yeah we have tuirned a corner - we beat the third worst team in the division at home!!  better than we did in the equivalent games with the worst team and 2nd worst team,....  but brighton did have only 10 men

How many times have we turned a corner this season?  Norwich City in a maze. You''re right, we don''t need to install a manager with no qualities - WE''VE GOT ONE OF THOSE ALREADY!

Its amazing how a last 5 min flurry against 10 men who are pushing forward to try and get an equalizer makes people change their opinion so quickly. The match review by Waghorn was far too complimentary, Norwich were awful. I thought I had witnessed some poor games particularly this season, but against that opposition was the worst. Last night people were ringing in to adams saying ''if we make the playoffs'', they are living in cloud cuckoo land. Any half decent team will destroy us at the moment, thank god they had some one sent off because they were the more threatening over the 85 mins. Thank god they didn''t have a decent striker.

Pompey fans are now asking for Redknapp to be removed..so their team wasn''t performing, they got a new manager, and they''re still not performing...Well it''s obviously the managers fault. I mean it can''t possibly be the players.

Sorry Woody but how can you come to this conclusion?? Please let everyone have a comprehensive list of all the ''out of work managers'' so that the rest of us can give a view?

Why do we have to get a manager with ''experience''? This, if taken to a logical conclusion would mean that the game would die a slow, painful death as no young guy would ever get the chance. Boothroyd had no experience of managing a first team and dealing with players on large wages and over blown egos (i.e. most footballers) - hasn''t done him or Watford any harm has it??

Up the scale, Pyscho had no experience of management when Man City gave him the caretaker then full job. ALL MANAGERS HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE AND BE GIVEN A CHANCE (but not by us, is that what you''re saying??)

Oh, and haven''t Leicester picked up somewhat since parting company with their manager?

Having said that I do 100% agree about getting behind the team. I am firmly in the Worthy Out camp but I will not turn on the players with jeers and catcalls from minute one - as happened last night.

So, Gamera, what do you do? Sack all of the players? Redknapp''s problem is that he changed his first team by NINE players in January, no wonder they don''t know if they''re on their a%%e or elbow.

Another manager could get some of our team playing to their full potential, although it will take the new manager the rest of the season and the summer to get things anywhere near where they should be.

It has to be conceded that for the past two summers the manager has made some woeful signings - it was not just injuries that has made us sign so many loan players - the squad was too small  and the new players, with Safri an honourable exception, are not really up to it.Observing the litany - when you add strange team selection, including players out of position, and strange tactics, including hoofing, it is not surprising that we are struggling.Could this be remedied? Yes, but it would require a complete conversion by Worthy, and he is an obstinate man who has shown few signs of changing.Would a new manager be any better? It is always a risk, especially as Worthy has had something like £13m to spend over 5 years, and such expenditure is unlikely in the future. But there must be young ex-players who have lively intelligence and imagination and who have been schooled in passing football. Brentford seem to have found one, and Watford, and Southend. There must be a few with a vision of how football should be played and an ability to motivate a team to play for each other. Most managers seem to adjust tactics to suit the opposition and organise their defences to make it difficult to break down.Yes, it is a risk. and you never know how things will work out, but there must be a low risk that a new manager would produce results and performances worse than we are seeing!
