I would hope we took the full allocation after the mistakes earlier this season, notably at Chelsea. Once again our ticket office gives no information on this, so let’s hope that they haven’t messed up again.

Leeds split the away allocation depending on demand, a full allocation would be just under 3K.

It was open to group 4 so I don't think it sold out that quickly- I was going to go before the shift to a Sunday.

We are clearly not taking full allocations for some games. There hasn’t been a fuss about it like there was with the London game earlier in the season due to the smaller numbers who want to go but miss out but on the QT it’s pretty clear the ticket office are taking small allocations for some games, probably unnecessarily in some cases.

Im sure in this day and age they could develop an app / website or something where people can register their intent to purchase a ticket, Possibly with a non refundable deposit (to remove any timewasters) if you pull out, so the club has a gauge of interest and can request the suitable number of tickets required. 

This would work both ways in that people who want to go get tickets, and also they club doesnt get left with lots of tickets they cannot sell. 

im sure a spotty teenager could develop such an app / website in minutes!

The club is a joke when it comes to away tickets. Since the membership fiasco, to under allocation of tickets. They don't optimise ticket sales, nor provide a satisfactory supporter experience. 

Liverpool looked a very reduced allocation. To the extent you couldn't even see the away supporters from the tv camera, which you normally always can with ease. 

It's simply not fair that the club decides unilaterally to restrict allocations when there is a demand for those tickets.

I agree. There are cases where it’s justified but it’s clear in some cases they are prioritising a “small” financial risk over supporters who might wish to go and in some cases who may have bought the away membership product.

 Would City take 3K to Leeds though? The top tier of the away section which goes on sale first holds 1600 so unless the club are sure they can shift the other 1400 it is a sizeable financial risk.

They did for for on match recently  im sure. 

Wouldnt change the outcome, but at least fans would feel more informed. 

Maybe one for the OSP to raise, and close some gaps between fans and club.

It would certainly be interesting to see a list of our away gsmes that have made it to general sale this season and the allocations we were offered and ended up taking. Even games like Everton sold out much earlier than I would have expected.

I think we probably would but even if we didn’t it’s about £30k if all 1400 didn’t sell (which wouldn’t happen).

The Everton game was early on in the season with more optimism than we have now. I'm sure we only took the Lower Tier which is much worse for watching the match.

I agree. The ticket office seems to exist in its own little world. They are reluctant to give out information on allocations, which other clubs publish freely. We were told after the Chelsea debacle that lessons had been learned. Have they?

That would raise an interesting question FF. Say we agreed an allocation, with the liabilities that go with it, sell tickets accordingly, then like Leeds away the date changes, necessitating the need for some fans to request refunds as they cannot go, who meets that liability?

I don't know for certain but I would guess still the away team. With a minimum budget (ours) of £130 million in the Premier League the sums of money involved are comparatively trivial. In the case of TV games I would have thought the additional TV receipt exceeds any such losses though that won't apply to the Leeds game. The inconvenience to loyal fans is surely the most important issue.

I’m guessing that it doesn’t matter at Southampton. They don’t usually sell out anyway, so wouldn’t need the extra seats for home funds that some other clubs, including us, do.
